Is this experience classified as OBE?

When I was a young child (6-7) I vividly recall my first out of my own body experience. I was sitting in the playground at school eating lunch when a seagull moved in at ground level and begin eyeballing up my sandwiches. I remember watching it out the corner of my eye while munching away. The next thing I knew I was airbourne. I can remember the lightness of it's body and the strength of it's wings. I can still feel it's heartbeat. I was looking out of it's eyes as circled the playing fields. As it cruised back over where I was sitting, I saw myself eating my lunch and was back in body as I bit my fingers wrapped round the sandwich, in fright. I experienced the same thing not long after that sitting astride the bow of the family yacht with dolphins leaping in the bow wave. I used to try to mimmick the movement and sensation of being inside the body of dolphin when I was swimming as a child.

Over my life I've had many similar experiences. I'll share another before I hit the hay. This one made me question who I am and goes back a few years. I had just begun a relationship with a man who was also saw spirit. We had some interesting journeys together. On this occasion he was in a golf tournament. I couldn't attend as I had other commitments. At one stage during the day I had a quiet moment and wondered how he was doing. Instantly I found myself watching him from under a nearby tree. I saw his play and overheard a conversation he was having. At one point he looked right at me and I waved. When we caught up later he was so excited to tell me about the white lady he saw the golf course. She waved at him. I didn't tell him it was me. At that stage it sounded daft and I didn't think he'd believe me. A week or so later he was unwell and I couldn't get up North to his house to for a couple of days. I was doing the dishes and thought about him and found myself standing in his room by his bed. He was reading a book. I sat next to him and noted the page he was on. When he rung me to tell me about the visit from the white lady, I told him it was me and gave the proof of the book and the page. It always intrigued me that he saw me in a different form.

Sounds like a mental projection to me. You projected your mind's eye to a different location without separating your consciousness out of your body.

Are out of boby experiences mental projections as well? I've experienced them at times as well. There's another thing that has intrigued me. On two occasions I know of people have thanked me for being with them at times of crisis and yet I have no recall of it. The first was an uncle who I'd never met before (am first generation Kiwi, my parents are from the UK). A few years ago an aunt and uncle ventured to our distance shores and on first meeting Uncle Karl starting starting jumping up and down going 'Eeee our Rose it's 'er, it's 'er, that lady I told you about standing next the bed when I had that heartattack. I thought she was an angel.' He reckons he saw me standing next to his bed and I told him he as going to be ok. I'd never met him before and I'd remember if I had because he's quite a character. He looks like an overweight Willie Nelson with long grey hair and a red bandana.
Another time I met a man on a dance floor and we smopped no's. He travelled a lot and we briefly communicated by email. I lost interest, then about 8 mths of no contact got an email from him saying 'Thank you.' I emailed back, 'Thank you for what?' He said he'd passed out at a conference from nervous exhaustion and was rushed to hospital in New York. He thought he was dying. In the emergency room I appeared by his bed and told him he was going to be ok. Obviously a part of me travels without me being aware. What I don't get is how come my other male friend saw me a white lady when I projected mentally and the others, unbeknown to me, saw me, as me. I'd appreciate any insights you may have.

Could be lots of explanations going on there. You could be travelling astrally with no recollection of it. Your higher self may be comforting these people, in which case, "you" are at home asleep and none the wiser. I've had people tell me similar things (more and more now, actually). My sister "calls" me whenever she is faced with an unwanted being in her room. I sometimes remember going to her and sometimes I don't.

You may be able to advise me on another matter. I've been doing readings for over 10 yr now and am very visual. I can stand in people's energy and discribe rooms, internally scan energy fields and pick up thoughts, emotions, blocks etc. I'm also able to discribe the physical features of living and deceased people around a client in relation to issues presented. I hear voices and see words. The area I intend to develop further is names and dates. They are often given spontaneously but when I ask, my head floods with preconceptions and blocks it. Do have any suggestions?
