Curious about contacting dead mother

I've thought about using LOA to contact my dead mother, I remember shortly after she died of cancer my dad told me he had a dream about her mother who died of the same thing, and she said she would die and that my uncle and aunt would get back together, and the family would have to make a big effort for it work.

And it all happened, my mother died, and my aunt and uncle got back together, but eventually ended up splitting again.

So do you think its possible I could contact my mother? There is part of me that really could do with my mothers guidance, and there is another part of me that feels that it would be wrong in some way, like i'm cheating in life, and that your not supposed to contact dead.
