Too Afraid to Astral Project!!!

Last night I was lying in bed, relaxing my breathin and muscles in order to try and astral project. I said a quick prayer to god and my spirit guides to protect me, and continued climbing down an imaginary ladder. After awhile I felt pulsing all around me, and my eyelids began twitching, and there was this rushing noise all around me. I kept thinking "it would be so nice to float up now, I would really like to fly up..." And then I felt the beginnings of what I thought were separation. Then.....
.....I scared myself and "woke up", feeling my heart beat at a pace that wasn't physically even possible.
I can't get past this! I always scare myself unintentionally!
I think one of the reasons is because I've always had "demons" visit me during sleep paralysis. I know that these demons are probably just projections, but I subconciously create them anyways.

How do you get over your fear? Is it worth it? Am I simply just not ready to project? I am 16, I have lots of time, but I REALLY want to do it..... I just psych myself out sometimes, haha.

The sensations are frightening because they are unfamiliar. Practice will make them less scary. You were close though, from the sounds of it.

There's been a few times where something scared me, and I just got determined. Like when you're so angry or focused that fear vanishes. First, it vanishes within you, and then, no obstacle would dare stand in your way anyway.

Figure out a way to be bold. It's just a little click in the mind.
