The timing of the revealing and aquisition of powers

Hey guys, thanks to everyone who responded to my first post as it helped quite a bit and gave me a sense of calmness. My next day was particularly the day I felt the most grounded in my life and the stillness that pervaded the day was unmatched for me. But I have yet another question...

My question regards the timing of when these powers are revealed to us. I have the current perspective of that which I need will come through time and purity. I feel as if the more I become more pure and cleanse my energy centers I will receive these powers that most of us are experiencing. I personally don't feel that I am pure enough in heart yet to bear the weight of some of these powers and that with the aquisition of these prematurely I will only be doing myself a disservice. I'm curious if many of you have had these powers revealed to them through the cleansing of oneself or if you have spent many hours and days working to aquire them. If it is the latter, do you feel that you are fully capable and responsible enough to yield them? And why did you want them in the first place?

I think what you believe makes a huge impact. If you feel you're not ready or pure enough, that will have an impact on it. So work on your beliefs and the things you need to do to be ready for it. Be proactive and not just passive accepting - which it sounds like you already got the right idea
