Question How can I learn to fly?

This may sound ridiculous, but I really, really, REALLY want to fly. It's something I've been passionate about my whole life. I fly in my dreams all the time and it is AMAZING. I constantly see my old beliefs being shattered, so why wouldn't it be possible to fly? It must be possible.

Does anyone know how I could learn or where I can start looking? I am serious. Thanks.

Of course, if I could actually fly, I'm sure it'd freak people out... but I'm not concerned about that right now. Learn to fly first, ask questions later.

Seconded!

Just imagine the environmental gains if everyone could fly. We could scrap personal transportation completely. I think this area is definitely worth some serious research.

I think the area to focus on before flying would be hovering or floating which is completely possible. Have you ever felt the repel of energy before? Like holding the negative side of a magnet above a negatively charged surface, it repels. If you can focus on the energy in the atmosphere, focus on its charge, then focus on the charge of your personal energy and make them repel, you would repel from the atmosphere. I have a feeling that this won't be possible until the poles switch in 2012. I'm not sure why but that just seems like a possibility. The world is supposed to change in crazy ways then, what crazier than people inexplicably teaching themselves to fly?

I studied a form of martial arts where I learned to feel chi. I'm no master at it, but I can definitely feel energy, especially in my hands. I always thought about repelling the energy against gravity, but repelling it against the atmosphere is also an interesting idea. And you're right. Learning to hover is probably a more feasible goal at first. I would need a tremendous amount of energy to lift my body. I wonder how I could cultivate it.

Well I'm not sure you could create enough energy to repel, if it takes a large amount. Yesterday I had a weird training session on energy (you can see my other post about it. It was crazy.) and at one point my body was filled with pulsing energy. I didn't try to do anything with it because it was my first energy experience, and I was following a specific training that I couldn't break away from, but the amount of energy flowing through my body was so intense that my heart began beating over 200BPM. I thought I was having a heart attack. I thought it was literally going to explode out of my chest. That was probably the scariest part of my experience.
The point of that story was that I think containing enough energy inside of yourself to hover might not be possible because it would accelerate your heart too much. I was thinking more just about programming a smaller amount of energy inside of yourself to be the polar opposite of the atmospheres energy. Then you would just naturally repel. And you could learn to control the polarity of your energy to go higher or lower.

I know all about flying. I'm a duck!

My recommendation: Look in your local Yellow Pages for the closest flight school.

It's great to get advice from someone that can actually fly. The only problem is I do much better learning on my own.

Also, I'm a big fan of all your cartoons. Keep up the good work.

And by learning on your own, you mean learning from other people, no?

I noticed you learned blogging from Steve Pavlina. The two web sites are quite similar. He's definitely a good source to learn about it from, considering how successful he has been.

I'm glad you enjoy the cartoons. You should see what I'm planning for Bugs...

I didn't mean I don't learn from other people. I meant that I don't enjoy learning in a school environment. I prefer to be able to move at my own pace as opposed to going to the preset pace of a class. I learn so much from other people.

To allirowe23:

The force of the Earth's magnetic field is MUCH MUCH weaker than its force of gravity close to the surface - think about it!!! (sorry, I couldn't resist!)

To Jay Pavlina:

A person who has enough power to make a relatively lightweight object rise into the air is rare indeed.

Lets just say that flying in the astral body is more fuel efficient that flying in the physical body!!!

lol

There is however documented proof of people having the ability to fly. ASTRONAUGHTS!!!

[Look, I'm sorry to be so serious about it - but some people really do have the wrong idea ]

Ah, I see. Well, flight instructors usually fly with you one-on-one. At least that's how it went when my brother learned to fly.

You may enjoy the film, "Fly Away Home." This is a story of Canada geese migration with a man who built a unique flying machine to guide them.

Of course, on the subject of energy and your desire to fly, it may interest you to read up on astral dreaming and out-of-body experiences (OBEs).

I suppose it might be possible. I have been doing telekinesis for years, and I can move things..But not fly. Maybe you should get a more realistic goal first, like trying to move a pencil?

Would it take a lot of energy? Do you need to cultivate it? Are you sure?

I can't fly either, so take any advice from me with a grain of salt. But in my baby steps down the path every advance has come about by leaning against a belief until it broke, and then enjoying the rush of opportunities and synchronicities that always follow.

There is a baffling amount of energy in and around us, in all kinds of forms. I'm sure you could find a way to tap into it if you put your mind to it.

A guy I know mentioned the tibetan buddhists. Their yoga is so advanced... yeah, I believe they can fly.

Damn, I wanted to post that vid now, though with the short link http://tiny url/mancanfly (without the space)
Though that's not flying, that's just controlled falling. Flying involves being able to go UP, not just down, and I don't count upwinds.

Edit: Why the * is tiny url xensored?
