Do you see other people's thoughts or mental pictures from others?

I think maybe sometimes some people who are psychic can (mediums can) but what about other people with psychic abilities? Does it happen to you and a lot of other people you know?

I went to see a spiritual healer on Friday and I'm pretty sure she was getting a resonance of my thoughts... I was repeating some very Conversation w God type stuff in my head and she said she was getting that off me but I didn't push the question any further. Also, when I was thinking about reiki she told me she would put me in touch with some people to teach me.

I have had many "coincidences" throughout my life where i would not see a picture nor hear a thought, but think a thought, that would soon turn out to be exactly what someone else was thinking. I have developed a sense for when the thought is my own and when it is not, but they all feel like my own when i do not pay close attention.

If I so wish, I can recieve certain colours and then translate those into the emotions (be it counscious emotion or sub-conscious) of whoever my focus is on. But it's not soemthing that happens naturally - it has to be intentional.

I am like Monkey Face, I receive colours from people occasionally, like I will talk to someone and come away from the conversation thinking 'yep, red and purple' and there is this image of red and purple in my mind coming off them. I can't explain it. And often I can link this to aspects of their personality although I am always wary that this is my mind getting in the way and attributing the obvious.

Again, I am fairly certain I could do this consciously if I tried harder on developing my abilities but it does rely to a certain extent on whether people want you to know and I still have a long way to go....for now I am just relying on the sporadic times this happens.

But in terms of specific thoughts, I think this would be much more complex and I do believe that if you are thinking a specific thought and you don't want someone psychic to find out, they won't be able to.

This happens to me more than I would choose to have it happen; could I control it. Problem for me is..I cannot shut if off, and I am becomming introverted as a result. I cringe at the thought of interacting socially with people that this happens more often with. I try to avoid crowds altogether. I find myself avoiding people alot now, because I cannot shut it off at will yet.

It would be really nice to see something useful as far as this situation goes.

I feel others feelings. If I am near someone with a medical problem I will actually feel the symptoms for myself in their presence.(without being told of it..believing for myself that I was a hypochondriac or something.) While I can seem to run my hand over a persons body and pick up hot spots of interest when they are ill...at will..I still cannot avoid feeling these things when I don't want to. It is to the point, where when friends or my kids friends are having a problem and knock on my door for insight...I don't even want to scan them purposely for fear it may just strengthen the uncontrolled sensing that happens.

This is definitely an issue of interest for me and I look forward to reading any input or informative links that are posted on this topic.

It does happen to me - and when I was younger, I too was becoming an introvert - having peoples thoughts bombarding me all the time was nerve racking.

I learned how to do a full shield (visualizing myself in a white light bubble - sounds silly, but it works) which blocked most of it. Now, I can usually dial it down or up as needed. The same technique helped with empathic overloads as well as smell and sound overloads.

When someone is trying to describe a horrific personal incident, they unintentionally provide mental pictures. I will tell them to tone it down because I can see what they are describing.

Now mind pictures normally only come to me when someone is communicating directly to me (conversationally - not randomly).

Not everyone gets mind pictures - some get the feelings from the other person (empathy).

Sometimes I get very strong impression that someone else is thinking of something specific toward me or the situation. That is, I get the instant impression that if I was them, in their shoe, this is what I'd be thinking toward me or about a situation in front of us. For most of my life, I thought it was my own mental "smart" ability to be able to occasionally instantly put myself in their shoes. However, recently, I've been thinking it might be instead be "psychic" abilities and my receiving their strong thoughts. Still feels weird for me to say this, but I can't deny that possibility anymore.

My guess though is everyone is capable of this, and sometimes we think it's our thoughts and guesses about other people when it's really just their thoughts being transmitted to us.

It happened a few times that I got images from someone else, but it's rare. I'm very empathic though. When I was younger I wasn't able to differentiate between my own feelings and those of others, this was very difficult. The white bubble really is useful Sometimes I also get thoughts from others, but I don't see them, I'll "just know" them as if I was thinking them, but it feels more like receiving or acknowledging than like thinking on my own. I'm still working on differentiating my own stuff from others' stuff. In conversations it often happens that sentences or ideas pop into my mind out of the blue, and the next moment the other person says or does exactly what I was thinking. I suppose I just got it from them.

Sometimes I think that I kind of "know what a person is thinking". Mostly I can just perceive their emotions (I can do this all of the time and I have always been able to). Very often if I want to make a suggestion or do something, I know if someone else will agree with me or not and I find that usually I am right.

The other day I was talking to someone and I picked up the words they were going to say before they said it, that happened twice.

I find that when people say things to me (i.e. telling me what they want me to do or their oppinion of something) it seems to be "what I was already thinking", weather I was denying the truth of it or putting to use. I'm not sure if I was just confusing their thoughts with mine but I know that sometimes this is the case.

Yesterday I told my mum I was psychic and she said that she thought people normally considered it as just knowingness, I think I normally do, as well but due to numerous psychic experiences I have had I am trying to find out more about why they happened or how.

I don't hear direct words generally...if I have, it was a very strong conversational deju vu...i.e. sitting around in the office and hearing a random conversion again for the first time...that happened so much for a while, it stopped be interesting...this has tapered off since changing jobs...my connection with the new office must need time to grow.

Other times, a weird feeling like spider sense warns me of danger...or once I smelled rubber shortly before an 18 wheeler crashed very close to us on the freeway while my wife was driving.

Not sure if I smelled REAL rubber from him braking or a future rubber smell...who cares...it worked.

My spidey sense kept me alive on the freeway once right before and during a hugh multi-car pile up going home on the freeway one night...I don't really remember what I did, but it felt like I was in the 2nd or 3rd Matrix movie...yikes! THANKS! spidey sense.

This happened to me quite a few times actually...this is just the most dramatic example.

Everyone is psychic...you know that thing they say about 2% of communication is verbal the rest is non-verbal...such as tone of voice, volume, body language...I would add a hughe amount of communication is also passively psychic.

This is why people talk to pets...the pets learn some easy words or more like emotional tones from owners such as "go outside", "go for a walk"...most people will say these good ideas for the dog, the way it is said with a rise in intonation at the end of the phrase...the dog will **** its head and then get excited...the dog might even grabs its leash.

Pets pick up on the "jist" of your emotional message and react to it...like if you scold a pet...it will cower and try to suck up maybe or run away...you are communicating with your emotion and adding the words for you.

All animals are psychic, they are connected to the universe in more direct less distracted way...they know before an earthquake is coming...they know a tsunami is coming and move to high ground.

Psychic communication a common everyday thing...people that get paid to do it are better at it than the rest of us through talent and practice.

I also think that we all have a dominant input channel to receive psychic communication...I am working on mine and thinking about trying out Erin for a reading.

Picking up other peoples emotions has been somewhat a curse to me.

I remember that in my youth it made me feel extremely vulnerable, because I assumed that other people could look inside me just as easy. So I did all I could to block myself emotionally.

I also felt guilty sneaking in other peoples personal stuff and sometimes it was a major distraction in relating personally to other people, because focus shifted from the actual situation to what went on in the other persons head.

Today I have managed to shut down most of these psychic abilities, but is wondering if it could be possible for me to use these skills for the good of myself and others, if managed in a proper way...

Sometimes I catch a word or a sentence but only if it's a thought directed at me (like someone is thinking something about me). My mind has to be quiet to catch it. Every so often I'll get a mental image. The last time it was like a stillshot of an intense moment with a bunch of that person's feelings about it included. That one felt like an invasion of privacy, but it was facinateing and I'm paying more attention now to see just how much I can pick up.

Like almost everyone else (probably) I am able to pick up for example if someone is feeling bad about something they did (it might be considered too much of an invasion of privacy...)- guilt- emotions that would make me think someone might have committed a crime but if they made a full confession I know that I would probably no longer since this "emotion". Note: I have never tested this and I'm not intending to because I don't want to work for the police because it's just not my dream job.

At a shopping center where I go sometimes, I can sense the emotions of people who work in shops and I often feel that they experience "very heavy emotions" in some shops and I try not to go into these shops, because of this.

I think the only time I picked up a feeling from a place was when I was apartment hunting with my husband. We were in this apartment that was perfect but everything about it made me angry. I still remember how big it was. It had this beautiful porch that had a tree so close to it that it was like being in a tree house. I don't remember what made me so angry except that even then it felt irrational.

Here's the weird part. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before or after. I opened up this closet in the kitchen (it was a huge walk in pantry) and for a brief second I saw a scared little girl in there. Like a ghost or something and then she was gone. I told my husband that I didn't like the apartment and we left soon after. I wasn't scared just so angry. When we left the downstairs renter gave us a hard time about where we were supposed to park our car. She was angry too.

I have seen images passing through my mind when I'm talking to people. This one time while I was talking to a guy I saw a strongly sexual image of me and him doing something together. He later asked me out and apparently he told his friend he wanted to sleep with me.

I don't think the image was coming from me as I'm not prone to imagining sexual encounters with people, particularly not with him as I was not attracted to him at all.

Well, my family has a very HUGE history of psychic abilities. Just about every has 3 or more different abilities. I have all of them VERY strongly, empathy (with animals and humans, also ghosts), can see ghost or family members who past away in either dreams or real life, telepathy, I read aura's, I can interpret things about people from just one sentence they say to me or think, and I have had connections with family members and friends in past life events, mainly seen in our dreams, there's more just i cannot remember the names. But, just recently I've started to notice that I don't just pick up on what others are feeling and thinking but that I pick up on every single person that I talk to's memories. I can also pick up memories from areas, they aren't just feelings, these memories, but super super clear images and videos. For example I walk home from school everyday, and I go by this desert patch/field and there is a burn down house that no one has cleaned the remains of, and also a torn down barn nest to the burnt house ashes. I feel a weird feeling about it, there's about 6 to 8 trees that are planted in a circle around the house, I'm not scared. I've done this about 3 times to this house, I stand in the middle of the ashes and I can see a blue house on fire from the inside out, I can't see anyone inside of it, but can feel it. The whole aura of the area is very very weird. I do that with just about anyone I talk to or look at, it's making me think I made up the memories, but I know I didn't. It's also weird because out of my whole family, which about everyone has some of these traits strongly, I am the only one who does this. I'm only a teenager and I might have these traits the strongest in my family. It's weirding me out, but I like to know I can do this.

I do get information either like pictures in my mind like watchimg a tv or names pop into my head, these usually get stronger when I hear someone speak.

Huh? I don't really understand the question. Do you mean people who are professional psychics vs amateur psychics?

Whatever it is, for me I get my information from a third party. And generally it's translated to my point of reference.

So let's say someone is asking about their childhood home, I wouldn't see it as how they remember it, how it is in their mind. I wouldn't get the actual house either. But I would be given an image of house that I would translate into their house.

Like I might see my grandmother's house, but with my neighbor's garage stuck on the opposite end. I would say it looks like an old fashion colonial, the garage is on the right side. I see lots of trees in the back, especially tall ones to the right.

The picture getting isn't the person's actual house, but I'm given things that I are in my frame of reference that I can translate.

That's one of the hard parts of reading for someone.

One of my main examples was I was doing a reading for my therapist (who's now my friend). I saw this guy she was going to meet. Now they are showing my Greg Brady from the Brady Bunch....

So I described what Greg Brady LOOKED like.... Luckily I mentioned I'm being shown Greg Brady. Turned out to be the guy's name. He did still kind of look like him, but it was the name, not the looks they were giving me.
