How do you tell the difference between Lucid Dreams & prophetic dreams.
I have an odd question -how do you tell the difference between being lucid and dreaming and having a precognitive dream?
I have the occasional dream, where I will become lucid in the dream-usually they are dreams where I'm in danger of some sort, and I "wake up" in the dream, tell myself I'm awake and get myself out of danger or out of a negative situation.
But I've also been having these odd sleep episodes for a few months where I will be having a dream. Lets say I'm in my house talking to a friend, then that it flip like changing a channel on tv. And suddenly, a new venue, I am lucid and I'm always with the same man. Its like they are a memory of the future-if that makes any sense, it only lasts for a few seconds, Then it will flip back to the original dream.
These dreams blips as I call them are sometimes the same "memory", sometimes different but always with the same person (someone I do not know currently) and my feeling in them is one of extreme happiness, love and feeling like I am living in a perfect moment.....And I would REALLY like to manifest that as my reality.
Am I having precog visions in my dreams, or is it another dream that I am becoming lucid in??? I only have one person who understands these kinds of things when I talk to her and she is just as confused about them as I am.
I would love to hear what some of you think.
I think you have to follow your intuition on this. I've had precognitive dreams that proved themselves out, and others the felt the same where I've yet to find out. But for me they have a very distinct "flavor" to them, regardless of their substance.
Rather than understanding exactly what it is, I think it's more important to understand why it was important for me to see/experience this at the present time. Even a precognitive dream might be shown to you for a very different reason than you might suspect. When I have a dream that strikes me as important, I send out the intention to understand why it was shown to me. And I write it down; I've had dreams with multiple levels of information that subsequently became useful or clear at different times, including a mix of precog and "educational" material.
It sounds like you're having some interesting experiences. Good luck and keep us posted!
Thanks for your input Andy.
I agree with everything you said. I think that I'll need to try to rely on intuition on this one
I have also been looking at the literal and figurative meanings of both the dreams and the visions. I didn't mention in the post earlier about my awake visions since I was curious as to why they were happening during dreaming.
As to the awake intuitive visions, deja vu, or whatever one wants to call it, they have been something I've wanted to talk about too....Since finding my way back to a spiritual practice the last 4 months, they've come more frequently. I use to be quite sensitive when little and in my 20s, but had a depression that took over my life for a good years. This is the time I came across Steve Y Erin, The Hicks and other places to help me raise my vibration up.
My visions are always about normal everyday sort of things like walking around, site seeing, being in a group of friends, etc... Alot more of these little "bits of memories I haven't had yet" as I like to call them, have been about the a person I haven't met yet. They do have that different "flavorl', IF I remember correctly. But-its been so long since I've been sensitive, I worry that I'm not sensing properly or that I'm projecting what I may want as opposed to it being something that will happen. I've had visions that came true exactly as the vision showed, down to the detail of clothing on people, and other visions that were in code, but the end result came true.
I completely agree with you about seeing the reasons why I am experiencing this now, and what that means. I understand that so much. As you know-as you become more aware of your vibrational self, the more things become apparent around you-good and bad= and you can choose to align your energies higher. There is alot of personal things about my path in this existance that I have been looking at, what makes me happy, what I want (ask and it is given) etc..... Part of that introspection is manifesting that kind of relationship of complete happiness/bliss with someone who feels the same way for me.
I think that since that intention is a very personal desire, maybe theres some fear in that I may be projecting a desire about the vision, or perhaps even projecting the visions themselves, rather than feeling intuitively. Thats why I am glad these forum are here, for me to talk to others who are unbiased. You don't know me, and aren't friends who may feel the need to placate me or be afraid to tell me that I need to stop being delusional.
I hope that didn't sound all jumbled, theres so much going on in my head about it.
I'm not there yet, but it leads me to ask, have you explored your purpose yet? I expect you will find a connection between the two. My purpose has nothing to do with becoming a professional psychic or anything close to that, but it definitely helps me understand why this happens and what I should do with it. You might consider the idea that this might be happening to help you wake up to your higher awareness and take the next step.
In 2004 i was hospitalized for schizophrenia , while in the hospital i had a dream about the end of the world. In the dream i saw satan as a towering monster over New york city. Also in the dream i was screaming Gabriel, gabriel! he happened to be in a butcher shop , but i didn't see him.In the dream i also saw the sky's dark clouds parting and white clouds decending, then i was on a escalater going up into the sky. That was the end of my first biblical meaning dream. Then in 2006 i had another dream , this time i was taking bible's out of a bowl of holy water. Then the final dream of biblical proportions was seeing Jesus christ himself. In the dream i think it was when he was risen ,because,he was bald and had no bread, then i reached out my hands toward him then that was the dream ended. These dreams have puzzled over the last few months and i would like contacts to solve mystery of these dreams and why me? a common sinner. You can contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org.
prophecy, lucid dreams and the Bible.
Hi Barbe, Andy and Ferreraspsalm91. I'm impressed by the level of spiritual awareness and experience all three of you have. Here is a website that should shine some fresh light on dreams and visions, both awake and asleep, both those of the 'educational' variety and the prophetic. I am sure as avid seekers and explorers of dreams and the supernatural you should find both the online notes
Dream Interpretation With James Harvey Stout Contents and the ebook http://www.spiritcommunity.com/dream...rpretation.pdf (both free) will assist you greatly in understanding your experiences and help you in discovering the interpretation. These two documents contain most of what I could offer in assistance.
I discovered lucid dreaming a few years ago at a website and as I was bed-bound at the time by major depressive disorder with no perceived hope or future or purpose I spent many hours in dreamland. Before that time I would spend weeks (I really mean weeks) creating and revisiting dreams of epic proportions, picking up the same dream in the evening where I finished off in the morning. I have since discovered several other sources of information both on the web and in books and more recently from the Holy Spirit. Let me tell you that getting to know the Holy Spirit is the most exciting thing that has ever ever happened to me, either while awake or asleep! I have discovered the most powerful and effective method to understand and interpret my dreams and to heal my dreamland from nightmares is praying to the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that many going in the name of Christianity have hypocritically done many things that may have put you off, but as I understand it, the Bible is the oldest and most historically verifiable book on the Earth; well worth a read regardless of someones point of view. There's heaps in it about dreams and the supernatural and interpretations and so on. It's a real treasure chest.
The difference between a lucid dream and normal dreaming is simply that in lucid dreaming you know that you're dreaming.
Whether the dream is just fun, educational, for the purpose of psychological or physical or spiritual healing, a warning or advice to you or to someone else, or about the future, or misleading is a matter of the dream's interpretation.
I hope this is somewhat helpful.
What I have found, by personal experience, is that there are various approaches to Lucid Dreaming, most of which get the user not very far. Most think that it is a free for all fantasy state, but if this is true, then ask a very specific question, and concentrate on that question alone before entering state. You may get a visual presentation. Now, Say what you see, in terms of what Plato would call, the Simili in Multis.
If you then come to understand the principle of metaphor, and what it has to do with psychology, you will be much further ahead.
As far as prophetic visions, they may happen as a result of very specific questions--and if you get really advanced, you can simply ask and close your eyes and you will see. But it is a question about vision in general. It has nothing to do with personal power, but with truth, and fact, and you may not like the answer.
Treat the state as a learning state, designed specifically for you and you alone and you just might make some real progress-- but it will be the hardest thing you have ever done.
