Astral Constellation and a Strange Encounter

A while back, during an out of body, I was in my backyard and looked up at the big dipper. It was accentuated by an even brighter grouping of stars. It was beautiful to say the least. I had the urge to "go" there. I focused on the constellation and my desire to go there and began "flying" at an incredible speed. I got worried that I was too far from my body (amateur mistake I guess) and I was soon back in the yard.

First of all, can anyone relate any star gazing experiences while out of body?

What happened next has had a lasting, negative effect on me that I still seem to be trying to get over. Once back in the yard, I heard a low grumbly voice. The voice would resemble a cinematic "demon" voice. I couldn't make out any particular words. I turned behind me and saw a being, probably about 4 to 5 feet tall. I'm not sure that the voice came from it because the voice was gone. I was very anxious about this being. We both seemed to notice each other at the same time. It floated over to me very fast and stopped a few inches from my face. We stayed there for a moment, face to face. It had a wide, round head and it didn't appear to have eyes, or a nose or mouth, but it had general indentations where those features would be. It seemed to be observing me. I wish I would have communicated with it, but I just got scared and returned to my body. Since then, OBE's have been much more difficult. The obvious reason is fear, which I'm working on. But I'm curious if anyone has any thoughts about these experiences and what to make of them.

I have not had an OBE like this, no. But in my opinion, this being might have been your fear. When you say you stopped heading for the stars, that was also out of fear, i assume. So it might be that this nondescript being was your fear of OBE them self.

Regardless of what, or whom this being was. I think it is very significant to you, and is worth revisiting, if possible.

Thanks for the thought. I hadn't quite thought of it in that way. I definately considered my fear of the unknown afterwards, but not in that way. Thinking about what you said seems to imply that the entity was a manifestation. I think that is possible because I've manifested entities in OBE's before. The difference is that I have always known when a memory, fear, or something got in the way and caused a manifestation. The enity in this OBE felt very real and external. Although it is possible that it was just a very powerful manifestation caused by the very powerful experience that preceded it, along with the added fear--as you suggested. OBE's can get very complex and confusing sometimes.

If you (or anyone else) don't mind, I'm curious to hear about any vivid OBE experiences you've had. I've read all the books, but I'd like to hear from people who are travelling now.
