contacting dead loved ones

i'm just curious if people here have ever tried to contact dead loved ones (not with a ouiji board or anything) but just tried to contact them and what kind of results have you gotten?

my experience has been once a sudden overwhelming feeling of love within me from my recently deceased grandmother.. which made me believe i indeed contacted her as her image suddenly popped up along with the feeling without even finishing the question.

last night i tried contacting my deceased cat who died like 7 years ago. i tried imagining her approaching me but it wasn't working like my experience with my recently deceased grandmother. when i stopped trying to imagine her i was in this ganzfeld of light and this even brighter small orb of light approached me and -- i'd like to think it was her but i don't know. i definitely felt a pure love enter me though and although i spoke to her i did not receive any actual words back.. just hints of feelings of what she could have been trying to communicate.

any one else had these type of experiences?

My wife died about a year ago and I was thinking about wanting to some how communicate with her or even if that was possible. I went to sleep last night and I had a dream like no other before.
I was excited about the night sky and looking up into the sky, there were more stars then I could even imagine. So much activity colors that I could not comprehend it being real. And I remember talking to a woman and I think it was my wife but I did not observe her close enough to tell. I was so excited about the stars in the sky. But I was trying to tell her about the sky to come and look and she seemed as if it was like something she has already seen a million times before type reaction. After that was over the thought came to me. How people who are born without eye sight seem to have other senses that make up for the loss of seeing. And people with out hearing having other greater ability.

I guess what I made out of this was that we only see so much with are eyes. We miss way more than we actually look at. And the hearing I think my wife is shouting for my attention and I have not figured out how to shut off the noise of this earthly world to hear her. I pray and ask for the ability to understand how to communicate better with the spirit world.

I'm not a medium. I do not experience the deceased in my waking world. However, I do communicate and interact with them in the Dreamtime.

Not very long ago, I had a Lucid Dream with the express intent of connecting with some of my crossed-over relatives.

In this dream, I met with my father and my older brother. They both let me know that I was doing what I was supposed to be doing and that everything is going just as it should.

I have also met and interacted with 17 other souls who have died, but not completed their journey and who needed some help to do so. I've been able to successfully help 4. The other 13 were still too wrapped up in their own negative emotions (Guilt, Fear, Anger, Grief, etc.) to make the transition to the next experience. And I am still too inexperienced or weak (or both) to break through for them.

What do you mean they have not completed their journey? Do you just mean that they have not crossed over, or do they still have unfinished business here. Could you elaborate on what you meant and how you help them?

The way that I have come to understand the experience of "death" is that when the body ceases to function, the "Soul" leaves it permanently. At this point, the Soul is still experiencing a form of this reality, just without the ability to easily impact it or be impacted by it (similar to walking around in a 3D TV show where the characters go about their roles without any regard for your presence.)

In this state, you have a choice: You can either completely release all the things that hold you in place and move on to the next experience, or you stay in this inbetween place until you can.

As I stated above, the things that seem to keep Souls from making that move are most often extreme emotions such as Grief, Anger, Guilt, Shame, etc. They still feel too attached to something in this experience and until they can let go that attachment, they can't or won't cross over to the next experience.

When I work with these Souls in the Dreamtime, it is my duty to help them acknowledge a few things:
1. They are dead. A few times, the Souls I've encountered simply did not recognize that they were dead. They were still trying to figure things out (yes...just like the movie "The Sixth Sense"...).
2. They have a choice to move on and they can do so if they want to. A few times, I've worked with Souls who thought that they would be rejected or punished if they moved on. Their sense of Guilt or Shame kept them from stepping through the doorway to the next experience. I don't believe this is the case, but since I've not died, (at least that I can recall) I can't promise them this. I can only tell them that that's not how it works and that those that I have dealt with that HAVE crossed over confirm this with me.
3. The things that they are experiencing that are holding them back are their own constructions and are useless baggage. This is the hardest part for me and where I most often fail. I once tried to tell a woman who had committed suicide because her husband and son were both killed in a car accident (yes... just like the movie "What Dreams May Come"....) that her feelings of Grief and loss were misplaced because neither her Husband nor her Son ever belonged to her in the first place; that they had accompanied her on a part of her journey for both her benefit and theirs, but that they had their own lessons to learn and that once they had done so, it was time for them to move on. And yet for her, the sense of loss was so profound she could not understand that. I don't think she could even hear me at that point.

I'm no expert and as I said, since I'm not a Medium, my interactions are limited to the Dreamtime. I'm only marginally proficient at Lucid Dreaming, and of the 17 Dreams I've had that I recall, only 8 of them were lucid. But, I've had enough "slaps up-side the head" by Spirit to reinforce that what I am experiencing in the Dreamtime is real and that what I am doing there is likewise real.
