the other night i went to a party at my ex bf's house with all our mutual friends. while i still hold a flame for him, there was something he said that night (not to me) that really irked me and on the way home i found myself thinking - do you REALLY still love him? that comment really annoyed you!! - i thought about this for quite awhile when i got home, trying to ascertain if i did still really have legitimate feelings for him as he is now, and not just the memory of him.

that night i dreamed that i was in a clear, calm, blue ocean swimming & playing with smiling whales. he was also there, and we were on good terms, but then after looking up the whale symbol, i became even MORE confused: were the whales symbolising that finally i'd come to the right conclusion re: my feelings towards him, or were they confirming that i was still on the right track with him and should persevere?

very confused which path to go on with now!

The ocean is a traditional symbol of your emotional life, and whales are extremely large animals -- I think the smiling whales are a symbol of how you are letting this guy, and perhaps the idea of your ideal lover, take up a proportionally large amount of space in your emotional life, and he is (men are) happy to frolic around in there, if you let them. And you are content with that.

I would interpret the dream to mean that it's time to ascertain whether I'm content with how things are, and let life live me, or if I'd rather be the whale -- if I'm ready to interrupt this pattern of making him too big and instead be the world's largest mammal myself. Symbolically speaking.

Also it means you like me.

Usually, just focussing on symbol meanings is not the entire truth.

Consider, other things, like for instance, were the whales on the attack?, did you feel cramped, nauseous, clausrophobic?

What were you feeling?

Was it pleasant?

Also, what was the state of the water, - was it calm and smooth? or rough and turbulent? (Water represents emotions and spirituality) Was it clear and nice or was it murky and brown? These are important questions.

Some say whales are messengers from the spiritual realm - so what do you think they were trying to tell you now?

So it sounds to me like the dream meant that your boyfriend is a great idea!

Not a dreamweaver, but: just from experience...it isn't necessary for you to like everything about him, nor him about you.

I've noticed a lot of people these days movng on into their 30's and 40's and being very lonely, simply because they want or expect perfection in a mate and are unwilling to give as well as take. This is a sure way to be disappointed, I think. But, to each his own...

i think i have been given my answer in a most peculiar way, lol

i just attempted to sign up to an online dating site and my Visa was declined twice for no reason, even though there is plenty of credit available.

someone definitely does not want me going after anyone else by the looks of it!
