Possible Haunting

I've been living in the same sorority house for two years. I know it's an old house, probably built sometime during the 1930s or possibly earlier. I dated it from the time that the downstairs toilet was put in, but it could be older, because I noticed that the bathroom was probably put in well after the house was built (they walled up a window in the bathroom, where the shower is, that's how I came to this conclusion).

Our college is known for having multiple hauntings and one night we were all in the living room discussing our experiences, and at a particularly creepy part of the discussion we heard a loud bang. Everyone was downstairs because we had a house meeting just minutes before, and we sent someone upstairs to check it out. Nothing heavy enough to make the noise had fallen and no one was upstairs.

On another occasion, a friend of mine was talking to me about the ghost in her bedroom (upstairs in the same house). She said the ghost is a "he". I asked her how she knew and she couldn't really explain, but said she was sensitive to paranormal stuff. She identified it as coming from near her bed.

My personal experiences, have been seeing lights moving around in the house, pretty fast, that I can't explain. I usually try to investigate the source and have at least determined that it isn't a mirror, watch, or staring at a bright light too long. I have felt watched at times too.
One day I was taking a nap and I was kind of in the in-between stage of sleep and wakefulness. I felt a man and a very young child, likely a little girl around 2 years old, in the room. I couldn't really see them, it was blurry, more a feeling. They touched my hands and one of them wouldn't let go. I started to panic and woke up.

I also consulted friends who used to live here before, and don't associate with those who live in the house now. They had also reported that the TV used to turn on and off all the time in the room and that they would hear noises, just like my friends who live there now.

It could be just that the house is just old and that we're all a bunch of chickens, but it's been fun to investigate.

That sounds really neat! I've never experienced any paranormal activity, but I've always been interested by it. I even stayed in a supposedly haunted hotel in Virginia city once, hoping I would see or hear something, but alas, nothing! Oh well, it's fun to freak myself out sometimes anyway.

I have similar things happen in my house. My house is older, built around the 1900s, and the first time I entered the house, the first question I asked the realator was "who had died here." He looked at me like I was insane! I bought the house and moved in anyway. I often hear footsteps, like a man wearing big boots, going up and down the stairs, and it sounds like they are walking over my bedroom, but over my room is the roof. In the upstairs, more than one person who did not know anything about what I have heard, have told me that they felt like they were being watched up there.

My TVs also go on and off constantly, and when they start going on and off, I cannot change the channel, volume, or turn it back on for a few minutes after it has stopped. This happens to all the TVs in my house, but never at the same time. It usually happens in the room that the majority of the household is in. My TVs did not start doing this until my husbands Grandmother passed about five years ago. It started happening about three weeks after she passed and has been happening ever since. They were very close, and it happened more when him and my daughter were both in the same room. It never happened if I was the only person in the room.

I have also seen a small child around 3 or 4 here, and the toys would go off like crazy. I had to take the batteriesout of most of them so that we could sleep at night. I have seen shadows, lights, etc.

I have been here for 8 years now, and have never felt threatened, and I just live with them. As long as they don't hurt me or my family, I kinda like having them around. They are a constant reminder for me that there is an afterlife and I am thankful for that.

I have noticed that if there is a lot of negativity in the house, like someone is fighting, mad, or sad, more things seem to happen and they are more obvious. It is almost like we make them mad when we fight, and they let us know that they don't like it. I have also heard, but do not know if it is true, tht negative feelings give them more energy, if they are already a negative spirit.

Good luck ghost hunting, but I have found that if they know you are looking for them they tend to hide, and surprise you when you have given up or don't expect it. It is like a game to them.
