Default Help with Lucid Dream please

I'm trying to figure out how to Lucid Dream consistently, so far I know these tips:
-Stay as conscious as you can right before you sleep
-program your dream by thinking about what you want to happen
-when you realize you are in the dream don't get excited, because this will shut down the dream & wake you up

Any tips? I am going to try this tonight, thanks

Default See Erin's blog

Erin's blog has the links to a podcast she did on lucid dreaming a while back.

Another technique is counting backwards from 33. Do this once you have put out your light. If you get to 1 or lose count, just go back to 33 and start again until sleep takes you. It does work, I have tried it

Here are some more tips, Marth.

- As you practice staying awake longer as you drift off to sleep, each time you see a dream image, say to yourself, "This is a dream!" Wake yourself up a little and wait for the next dreamlike image, and say the same thing, "this a dream!" This can helps your subconcious to recognize a dream on it's own automatically when you're asleep.

- During the day, every hour, or every so often, ask yourself, "Is this a dream?" or state to yourself excitedly, "this is a dream!". This also does the same thing, except you're awake.

Good luck, Marth!

Is a very helpful website. Remember to place importance on your dreams, record them as you've had them.

I find I'm always checking to see if I can fly and etc, the habit is there, so when I do it in a dream I know very quickly I am asleep

My flying skills involve doing breast stroke about 3 feet from the ground, but I'm practising!

Also check to see if you are dreaming every time you wake to maintain or gain lucidity throughout FAs.

Try everyone's suggestions and evolve them to suit your intentions. Having a question you want to answer can help you work toward lucidity. Reading books about lucid dreaming helps a lot too. Reading focuses consciousness. Another tip: Try laying down before you are very tired. Create a simple imaginary landscape in your mind. Involve all of your senses as much as possible. Keep your landscape simple at first and focus on details. Make the wind blow, the sun set, and so on. Focus is the key. If you get bored. Add something to the landscape.
