i usually converse best with my guides just before sleep (alpha) and last night, i had a very long message from a guide whom i believe also works with my whole soul group, 2 of us in particular. i was lying there listening to him and it was like my tongue was swollen in my mouth and i couldn't move my jaw to speak - i wasn't panicked, i suppose it was just his way of making me listen

anyone else experienced anything like that? a physical reaction to a spirit message?

I often have that feeling. I never associated it with my Guides, though, but that doesn't mean it's not. Never thought much about it really.... I'll have to pay more attention from now on.

it was actually the first time i'd experienced that myself - obviously was an important message! and he, being rather important himself (and knowing my tendency to butt in, lol) kept me quiet

Guides have quite the personality sometimes! This one..actually asked your guardian angel to keep your lips sealed so you'd listen

I'm not in touch with any spirit guides that I know of. Your post reminded me of something that happens to me in dreams sometimes though: I'm in some house, and there's a ghost there. And I can't speak. I try, but my speech really is frozen.

It's no fun and it's scary too.
