An interesting experience.

Last week I was driving to work and I noticed my odometer had hit "777" (20,777 or something). I thought that it was quite strange to stop at the stoplight at such a combination of numbers (which seems to happen once in a while). Minutes later I saw a license plate with "777" on it. All weekend I've been noticing the same pattern. For example, scoring consecutive 7s playing Scrabble. I hadn't thought about it much, then last night I saw another "777" on a license plate! I decided to look up the number 777 for significance this morning. I really had no idea!

The number seven has deep spiritual significance. It has been held sacred by the Hebrews and other Semite peoples since the dawn of time. It represents perfection and holiness. It is used throughout the Scriptures and in this sense is the Almighty's Number.

The represents a message to me because of certain things I'm working on in my life! Has anyone else experienced this?

Very interesting, I have experiences like these myself. I think 777 is 666 in arabic numeral system? 777 is supposed to be the number of god though.

There's a quote in the movie Pi:

You want to find the number 216 in the world, you will be able to find it everywhere. 216 steps from a mere street corner to your front door. 216 seconds you spend riding on the elevator. Looking for pi drove that character crazy! So use caution when thinking this way. I'll stop typing seven word sentences now.

I had a dream once that I was visiting a fortune teller, and she emphasized that it was very important to me that I learn about the concept of "SETHER". I'd never heard that word before, nor had I studied Tarot. But looking sether up on Google I found the word mentioned in a PDF file Oracle of the Tarot, which says:

The special mode of consciousness associated in Hebrew Wisdom with 7 is the Occult or Secret intelligence. The Hebrew word here translated "Occult or Secret" is [...] Sether, signifying "to shut up, to cover, to hide, to veil, to conceal."

At the time I was very surprised to learn a new word in the context of a dream, and have it not be nonsense. In fact, it seemed like the very kind of word that a real fortune teller might bring up in a visit.

The represents a message to me because of certain things I'm working on in my life! Has anyone else experienced this?

I began seeing 1020 in dreams in very prominent locations. That's a large number so it doesn't occur terribly often...but I did learn that in radio code "10-20" means "Where Are You?"

So I've experienced numbers as communication. What's more interesting to me than any specific number is learning what people mean when they use a number in a certain context. I wrote an essay about embedding numbers into things like movies and the reasons why someone might do it:

I've always preferred 11:11, personally :-).

I don't know if it's subconscious filtering... or if it actually means something. Or maybe, your subconscious is filtering on purpose, in order to send a message. When I was younger, I decided that every time I see 11:11, I say to myself, "I am psychic". That's what it means to me. If my subconscious was going to filter it out, I might as well put it to use ;-).

I have seen 11:11 so many times. I regularly wake up...grab my cell phone and there it is 11:11... I have also seen 11:11 on a clock in my ego death experiences.

I've seen 1337 a lot, I'm a cashier at a supermarket and the price came up three times in one day, six times in three days. Looked it up, found out it meant "leet" or elite. Maybe it was a message from the spirits telling me I'm better than that job.

I see the number 13 everywhere. Never even tried looking for it. It is just there. Been like that for years.

But Brendon your experience reminds me of a joke I heard recently about a guy who keeps seeing the number seven everywhere one morning. He wakes up at 7. He takes the number 7 train. He works on the seventh floor. The date is July 7th.. Realizing all the sevens cannot be a coincidence he gets very excited and quickly goes to the track and places a $700 bet on horse #7to win in the seventh race. ...... The horse comes in 7th.

This is nothing surprising.

It's the 'new car' effect. From the moment you're thinking about buying a new car, you see it everywhere. Because your brain has changed its filtering method: the cars were there before but you didn't notice them since they had no value for you. Now that changed.

I know there's a system in the brain the filters for significance. However, once I acknowledged what I was seeing (I felt it was a message) I discontinued seeing it. In fact, I haven't seen "777" since then.

A quick note about 666... The reason why it is the 'number of the beast' is because of 7, or 777 (a trinity of holiness, as it were). 6 falls short of being holy, so 666 is really unholy.

I have heard tell that 666 was nothing more than a numerological code for Nero. IOW, it may have had significance at the time, being a slap in the face towards a Roman Emperor, but the number now only has what significance we attribute to it.

we use the arabic numeral system

ie. 777 *is* written in the arabic numeral system

777 in the arabic numeral system is 777

the Roman system is where you do CXIV and stuff like that, the Arabic system is the one we all use everyday

I also read where the number 6 signifies "Unredeemed human nature" and the number "7" stands for "Completion".

Evil loves to imitate the Divine- Satan is said to appear as an angel of Light.

So- it would make sense that evil would also love to imitate the Trinity by using a number that stands for "unredeemed human nature"

It is also interesting regarding Nero- Nero was a literal despot-- probably worse or the same as Hitler. No wonder that "666" was identified with him.
