Any info appreciated... sensing a negative presence in house

Hi there,
In the past six months My partner and I have been living in his family home eversince his mother passed and i am sensing a solo negative presence in a certain area of the hallway and bathroom.I am certain im not imagining it and have since had other unsettling experiences ie the door is always opening from that area i sense into the lounge a crack like someone is peering thru... i feel watched in the shower thru the vent above on the ceiling and woke up the other night after sleeping in the lounge to hear very heavy breathing in the room with no explanation as to the physical cause etc I am trying not to focus however my awareness seems to have gotten stronger
I know im not paranoid however this does arouse strong feelings of fear as i don't know what im dealing with... can it hurt me? im going to try burning sage and placing crystals to help however will this guarantee this will clear away and i will feel more at ease?

I have also had experiences in the past at other houses of negative energies..

I do not feel it is his mother. I would appreciate any information to help me deal with this as im feeling rather vulnerable at night. I do not have this intense feeling it is there in the day? Can anyone explain that?
Again i would appreciate any info as my partner is rather narrowminded and doesn't believe in this kind of stuff hence why im feeling vulnerable

There are negative spirits out there, and their only hobby is to frighten people, doing bad jokes and scary pranks...

Try to read this article from Erin's blog, I think it covers the topic.

The thing to remember is that you mustn't fear them. In my opinion they are just pranksters and that they do that out of boredom. (good spirits can do silly pranks too, but they don't do that to scare you)

Get someone to do a property clearing for you. Or intend for some earth angels to come and remove the negative entity or earthbound spirit for you.

Say the following: Emissaries of Archangel Michael and the third order, please remove any negative entities which are in my home and escort them to the appropriate Astral plane justly earned. Put up spheres of protection around my home so that no negative entity may enter it.

You can do all sorts of weird clearing rituals. But it's the intention behind them that's valuable. Also helps if you believe you can call on the powers that be and that they'll assist you.

Fear of presence will only feed that presence.
Don't feed the spiritual troll.

This house is yours, but you need the conviction of that.
You must imagine a force field around the house.
All negative forces will be bounced off the field.
Internally you must imagine you have the power to clean your house of trespassing evil spirits.
Only good spirits with good vibrations are allowed.

Be in spiritual command of your house, like a sargent would be in command of his squad.
