A question on asking our spirit guides a question
 

Hi all,

I've got a little problem when asking my spirit guides a question. I usually tell them things more than I ask them questions, like "Would you please manage to make someone cross my path who can teach me energy healing? I'd like to learn that. Thank you.". I just trust they hear me :)

But sometimes I'd like to ask them questions and that's when it gets difficult. I generally get a bunch of strange and contradictory answers.

Example: I just tried to connect and that's how it went. I called Number One, my primary guide. When I felt something I asked
- Are you aligned with Truth and Love?
- Yes
- Are you my primary spirit guide?
- No
- Hm, thank you for chatting with me, but I'd like to talk to my guides
So I call on Number One again and get this
- Are you aligned with Truth and Love?
- Yes
- Are you my primary spirit guide?
- No (arrrgh!! :eek: )
- Are you one of my guides?
- No
- Why do you come when I call on my guides if you're not one of my guides? Do I have any spirit guides??
- No
- Are you Number One?
- Yes

I guess that's because they get my question before I explicitely formulate it with words (because I already know what I want to ask?) and I usually feel the answer before being done with the asking, but I kinda dismiss it because I haven't ask "correctly" yet. Then when I ask "correctly" I'm very insecure and don't trust what I'm feeling, or I feel nothing at all... I think I'm not really open to receive the answer because I have more a "really?? Are you sure? really?" kind of mindset then.

What do you think, is that possible?

Are you dowsing when you do this?

It could be that you're not talking to your guides. I know when I'm talking to my guides now because I get a certain energetic 'signature' feeling from them when they show up - it's like one part love and one part familiarity. Did it feel like you were speaking to a guide?

The second possibility is that you're so attached to getting the right answers that your subconscious or ego is interfering. You can push that aside by relaxing and not placing expectations on yourself or the process.

You may also sometimes speak to guides who aren't your primary guide and that's OK. You will have one primary guide who's been with you since birth and a few more besides - they are all worth conversing with.

Is it possible you were conversing with your higher self? I don't have expertise in this area, just a question that popped into my head. :)

Hi,

this is a challenging area. Dowsing is good but you can effect the dowser with your thoughts so it is not infallible. If I were you I would ask for a 'physical' experience to gain a yes and no, for instance. Tell your guides that you would like a yes 'feeling' and a no 'feeling' that are obviously different. They are very helpful and will provide these basic feelings that will help you get going,

I understand how you described your communication exactly. I also communicate, not with guides, but others, and it happens exactly the same way. It turns out I ask my questions or express questions without a word and the answer comes as quickly without a word. I never get to verbalize the question, it all seems to transpire in feelings. I don't know who you are communicating with, but I think you will have success if you don't strive to verbalize your questions or their answers. Just feel them instead, because, as you noted, when we try to verbalize them, we get into our head in order to do so and it seems to take us out of the mind we need to be in to communicate with them. Once you are sure you have received the answer or completed an interaction, I recommend then writing it in words so you remember.

Rather than getting on a party line, why not try dialing direct?

"Rose here, requesting my primary spirit guide for a consultation. Would my primary spirit guide, aligned with truth and love (what? no Power? -- angela) and acting in the interest of the highest good for me and for the world, please check in with me now?"

When someone picks up, ask, "Hi, who are you, please, and what are you interested in?"

Enough with the yes or no questions -- it's just too Ouija. :D

Well, I certainly don't have advise. When I try to talk to Spirit Guides I just get a dial tone!! :rolleyes:
