It comes up over and over again as I explore my psychic abilities...I need to be more grounded. However the common suggestions are to eat meat or dairy, which I don't even want anymore. Is grounding even necessary? What types of grounding can we do with vegetarian/vegan diets? And I can't even comprehend raw right now...I'd be flying through the roof! |

This has been a real challenge for me too lately. On the raw diet, my ability to tune in psychically has been so strong it's unreal, but the down side is that it's harder for me to attend to very mundane tasks. If you're familiar with the chakra system, it's as if too much energy has shifted to my upper chakras. It reminds me of my polyphasic sleep days, where I felt so empowered, but I was becoming more and more separated from everyone else, like I was watching reality unfold but was no longer actively participating in it. At this point I don't have a solution to offer, but I certainly understand where you're coming from. |

I just had this thought today and there is already a thread for it. Cool I am already a "little spongy" when it comes to emotions and sensitivity so don't want to shoot through the roof like yuugen. ^^ I have hematite, i should use it more. |

You could try gardening, yard work, or repotting houseplants. I find that digging in the dirt, transplanting plants, pulling weeds, pruning, etc works very well for me (regardless of what my diet is).

Yeah, I've been told I have a lot of energy in my upper chakras...but that seems like a good thing..why do I want to take focus away from that? I have gotten a lot of house plants and cinnamon/clove aromatherapy..let's see if it helps. |

Chop wood and carry water, that will put your feet back on the ground. Stop living all your life in your head. I went through a similar thing, not because of diet, but because of chakra exercises and it took a lot of effort to re-connect with reality. We are meant to (IMO) operate in the full spectrum of our being while we are here, not transcend it, because death brings that change naturally. Balance |

Here's an exercise I've put together from diverse sources. I find it very useful to stay grounded. I do it every morning and every time I feel I'm "taking off". 1) Stand with your arms hanging down passively. Breathe white light into your belly and then breathe out forcefully, imagine you breathe dirt out. Let your shoulders hang heavily while breathing out. Do this three times. Every time you breathe out, you normally sink into the earth a little bit more and become heavier. 2) Then feel the energy in all your body parts, one after the other. Feel the energy in your feet, in your legs, ... and so on. Then feel your body from inside as a whole energy field. Feel it vibrate. Go deeper and deeper into your body. That's basically what Eckhart Tolle explains in the Power of Now. 3) Imagine enormous roots growing out of your feet and into the earth, miles and miles deep, anchoring you solidly into the ground. Imagine the same "roots" but made of light growing into the sky to act as a sender/receiver for your connection to Source (or guides or whatever else you believe in). 4) Put your hands as if you were praying and center yourself. Feel centered in your axis. If you're still floating around, let energy flow from you upper chakras into your lower chakras. 5) Imagine a bulb of shining white light surrounding you to protect you. That's all. I don't know for you, but when I include this to my morning routine every day that's enough to feel grounded. I recently met a few energy healers, they said to me "the more you're grounded, the more you'll be powerful". Eating meat and dairy doesn't make me feel grounded, it's the heaviness of apathy and bad digestion. |

I've used a similar meditation with the roots for some time, I don't remember where I read it, but I did alter it some to better suit me. It works very well at keeping "your head out of the clouds", a frequent side effect of focusing only upon the higher centers or spiritual part of life. If one is to be effective in this world they have to feel a connection to it. | |
