Pets and their connection to us

Hey there everyone!! Today I come to you with... Err.. I guess it would have to be a general wondering, or something like that. Anyway, people say animals tend to look like their owners. Now whether or not this is true, I'm not quite sure, but as far as I can tell, my cat has the same eye color as me, so I like to think it is true. Something I've been wondering is if pets connect on a more spiritual or energetic level. Do they share their own energy with us? Do they send us messages? Are we subconsciously called to the animal that we eventually adopt? These are just a few questions floating through my head, so if anyone has any comments or ideas, feel free to post!

There are schools of thought out there that suggest animals exist on more than one level. There have been documented cases where the introduction of animals to those who are sick or depressed actually improve the emotional aspects of those people.

Our animal brethern have been walking along us for thousands of years.

The Ra material tells us that the affection we give our pets can boost them from second density entities to third.

Questioner: After going over this morning’s work, I thought it might be helpful to fill in a few things. You said that the second density strives towards the third density which is the density of self-consciousness, or self-awareness. The striving takes place through higher second-density forms being invested by third-density beings. Could you explain what you mean by this?

Ra: I am Ra. Much as you would put on a vestment, so do your third-density beings invest or clothe some second-density beings with self-awareness. This is often done through the opportunity of what you call pets. It has also been done by various other means of investiture. These include many so-called religious practice complexes which personify and send love to various natural second-density beings in their group form.

A couple of years ago my guinea pig Ike appeared in a dream that he was going to snuggle in my arms, then go limp... ie. die. It was as if he was saying "This is what is going to happen." I thought nothing of it, as it was "just a dream". Well, I left to work that morning and said "Goodbye" to Ike, as usual. I was too rushed to give him his lettuce, but he got his alfalfa pellets for breakfast. He looked very sad, poor old guy. When I got home from work he was staring into space like I had seen so many of my pets do when they were about to "go". I picked him up and comforted him and he indeed died in my arms. Ike waited for me to come home. (My neighbour came over that night with her little dog who had become Ike's friend. And after Ike passed away, the little dog licked him clean before he was laid to rest in a shoebox . It was very touching.) So, in my case I definately believe that our pets have a psychic connection to us. I have an old VCR tape at home called "Pets: The Psychic Connection" and it show experiments on dogs and cats waiting for their masters to come home, but they won't wait until the actual time their master actualy leaves work. (Not always the same time every day!)

I don't know if we have a spiritual connection to our pets or not, but I find it comforting to think that we do.

Their unconditional love teaches us how to be better people. We're usually more "human" to our pets than we are to each other.

I'm not sure about any of that, but I do know the pets can and do have connections with us, and are of course made of the same "stuff" as everyone else.

I definitely believe that we do have a spiritual connection. I feel this way with my cat as well. I've seen her in dreams before and she does seem to know exactly when I come home. It might be because I often think about her on the way home. I dunno. I do feel that we have a strong bond and that we can share healing energy with each other.
