1. Is it the synchronicity of the cards or how they guide your consciousness? 2. Is it best to learn / memorize the complete meanings of the cards and spreads or just say what comes to you when you look at the picture? |

Yes, and yes. I think it's both in both cases. The process of how the cards guide your consciousness in extremely useful, even vital, and at the same time, I believe that there is synchronicity in which cards come up. It's useful to know the standard interpretation of the cards, but allow your intuition to guide you, too. Using only what the book says is like riding a bicycle with training wheels. You need them at first, but you can take them off and trust your balance once you've had some experience. Mostly, I use tarot cards for myself, but I have given a few readings to other people. The profound moments in those readings came when I let go of the safety of the standard interpretations and said what came intuitively. |

When I first started using Tarot cards many years ago I used to have the book beside me as a guide but then when I started reading them for other people I started getting "feelings" associated with the readings and I just started going with what I was feeling also and the vibes I was getting from the person I was reading. It is amazing what you can pick up from a reading. The more you read of course the better you get and the more comfortable you feel with the feelings you get when reading the cards. I love the Tarot, I think they are extremely accurate, although I don't find them accurate when I read them for myself but for the people I have read they have been extremely accurate for years. Good luck and have fun!

there are various ways to make use of the tarot deck. one lesser applied method is to use them to analyse the human experience, in a very conscious way. one takes the Major Arcana (the first 22 cards) and meditates on the representations and significations of them. This is a good site to start with. WELCOME TO TAROSCOPES - A Michael Tsarion Website & Home of the Taroscopic Mystery School... if you find your mind dwelling on one card or another, it probably represents an area of your life that you need to address at that time. The meanings of the 22 cards are very rich, multi-faceted, and deep. Much more than staring at a picture good luck on the journey!

I have been using them for years and find that memorizing is helpful to a point but after a while you get to know the cards and what they signify for you. If I get a certain card that has meant a particular thing in the past, I tend to look at it in the context of what the card has meant before. Not always the textbook meaning, usually something unique to each individual. I've done a couple of the online readings for fun but I don't think it's as effective as doing a "live" reading for myself or another. Has anyone else tried online Tarot? Ifate.com has a cool reading, any others? |

Anything a tarot card says.. should be taken with a grain of salt.. meaning if you don't like the outcome or the prediction of the future you can change it.. I'll follow-up with a little knowledge about the subject.. of predicting the future.. Quote:
