Signs

according to teachings of law of attraction, when you want something (hmmm, how about chocolate ice cream?) the Universe is supposed to line up all kinds of things and give you "signs" to say that it heard me, and it's coming to me.

Ok, I want chocolate ice cream. Now I hear ice cream commercials, I see lots of people eating chocolate ice cream, I see an ice cream truck. I open a magazine and the first page I turn to has a picture of chocolate ice cream on it.

I don't know about everyone, but whatever I'm thinking of I get "signs" of it. But what I wanted doesn't necessarily come to me. Why is that? Why would I get "signs" of chocolate ice cream and not get any?

The phrases "God helps those who help themselves" & "Faith without works is dead" come to mind. My opinion of manifestation is more about bringing opportunity for what you want, but you still have to do some action. I've been wanting to win the lottery but never buy the tickets!

Yeah... what Straysweeper said. LoA only works in conjunction with "right action".

Otherwise all we would have to do is sit around with out thumbs up our bung holes and wish for everything to happen for us.

Yes, Inspired Action is necessary, and I think "The Secret" is leading tons of people astray by leaving that important bit of info out. Even if it IS possible to "get something" with NO action, the people who watched The Secret are not advanced enough to do so.

I take Inspired Action as "effortless" in that you are going with the flow. It is INSPIRED by your desires and your True Self. So, maybe you feel an INSPIRATION to go get that chocolate ice cream. The fact that you have a grocery store to buy it in is something to be thankful for.... The Universe IS supplying you with your need.

I used to be afraid of "action" because I do not like Type A mentality: You have to be "GUNG-HO".. a "Go-Getter!!" ... "compete!!".... "Do, Do, DO!!!!!" Yes, you WILL get somewhere with that mentality. But to me, that is like an Eagle trying to swim. You get somewhere, but you are beat down by the time you get there.

So, for me, I use IM and LoA to help me find my "Inspired" action. The Eagle flies via Inspired action. It is not "hard" for him to do so, because it is in-line with his True Self.

If you quiet your mind you find out what your True Self is telling you to do. That little voice in your head is very powerful. I find when I am listening to it, the universe does provide, things "just happen" for me and I am greeted with endless opportunity.

But you really don't get that just by dreaming it will happen.

I agree that if "inspired action" feels great, give me joy, then I should do that.

My point was if I'm craving chocolate ice cream and maybe I can't decide if that is my highest desire and am looking for answers and I see all the "signs" that I stated, is that the Universe telling me "yes, this is the path you should follow".
