It is sooooo hard to comprehend but then again matters such as the story reads shouldn't be comprehended. Our brains try to intelluctualize such "impossibilities", but wonder if what Dr. Len is true? Can you imagine what power lies within you? Mark Baldwin |

I agree, Mark. If anyone wants to reject this idea on the basis of logic alone, I can't argue with them. I've had enough experience with experimenting with this and "see into" it enough to believe in it, but everyone has to be convinced in their own minds. I think astounding power lies within us. And, as has been said about Jesus, "If Dr. Len doesn't exist, we shall have to invent him." |

Megan, "logic" is the wrong term. With any set of premises, anything may be logical. I find the story quite believable, but only under a given set of assumptions that I also recognize that most people aren't capable of conceiving of, let alone considering or accepting.

Logic depends on premises. If you assume subject-object separation, as most people do, this story is illogical on the face of it. If you assume the cosmos is entangled at the quantum level, you might not think Dr. Len has gone 'off with the fairies.' ![]() 'Course...you might be wrong.... So...you find the story plausible? I can't guess at the math required to prove its possibility, but plausible? Very much so. I've always preferred Donne's way of putting it: No man is an Island. Part of being scientific means putting everything you can to the test, no matter how unbelievable it may seem. Being skeptical means that all of your assumptions are subject to question. And being logical means that, if your assumptions change, then your conclusions may very well have to change as well.

I read the article and find the concept fascinating. It makes sense to me. Consider the way encouraging other people is supposed to be an indirect way of encouraging yourself. Some law of the universe allows you to reinforce the positive or learning in yourself and influence others at the same time. As you evolve to see yourself connected to people on different planes, then it makes sense to believe healing yourself is also a way to invite healing in others. People will also promote or inspire healing by example. Consider spiritual retreats, alcoholics anonymous groups, and mothers against drunk driving (MADD) events. In many of these cases, people are inspired in the presence of someone who has lived and learned. However, even hearing about stories of people who overcome addiction and other problems can trigger a change of attitude and mindset in complete strangers who have never attended a meeting. Forums and blog participants and people who simply read about issues described by others, can send a prayer and positively influence the outcomes of strangers' lives. We aren't meant to always understand how we touch other lives. When good things do unfold, it could be angels or Higher Forces intervening, or it could be the wish of a stranger who intended or invited abundance and positive things our way. Be thankful. |

Hi Michael. I like your view of inter-connectedness as an explanation for God. I've long sensed I'm linked with people, but its only more recently I've become more fully aware of wider connections within me. I'm experiencing new realisations in reading the Conversation with God Series by Neal Donald Walsch. One view presented is God is limitless, can appear in any form, under any circumstances, and to all people in all places at the same time. It is suggested that "Life IS the process of awakening and becoming. It is the process of becoming what one always was." I would hypothesize that if a person believes there has been some external intervention in his life, then that person feels disconnected from other people and hasn't yet grasped the power he actually exerts over his inner being. Like you, I believe what we don't yet understand can oneday be understood. It may not seem now like we're 'meant' to understand aspects of where we are or what we're doing, but progressive enlightenment has power to change our perception.
