dreams about a deceased parent

what does it mean if a deceased parent comes to you in a dream and tells you about the future? Is it just a dream with no meaning? or something to think about?

The reason I'm asking is it has to do with something I want to happen. And a deceased parent came to me in my dream (and I knew this person had passed on in my dream) and told me what I wanted to happen would.

Firstly it could be wishful thinking and that you are creating this dream.

OR

it could be very true and that your parent does come to you to let you know that they are giving you their approval. Whether they can or cannot predict the future is up for debate.


I can tell you that I have had visits from loved ones in my dreams but can't really say whether the future has been predicted by them. In one of these dreams an Aunt told me that she was expecting someone to join her, this was close to the time her stepdaughter died.

My niece has had the close future told to her by a visit from my Grandmother. Rain had been predicted for her outdoor wedding the next day, Nanna told her that the weather would be perfect - it was. She was 4 months pregnant at the time and was told she would have a beautiful little girl - again true.

I too have had dreams where deceased relatives told me something that was going to happen that indeed came true. But I've also had dreams where I was shown a future that did not come true. You'll have to wait and see I suppose.

thanks for the responses. You have no idea how much I appreciate them.

I, too, have heard different things; wishful thinking, nonsense, this is the only way a person can really reach me. Whatever it is, I've stopped thinking about it and I guess I have to just wait and see.
