Default Lucid dreaming dry spell?

Ever since I started lucid dreaming, I've been getting at least one lucid dream a month (usually through noticing I'm in a dream while dreaming) but ever since my summer vacation started, I have been having dreams but no lucid dreams. I find that weird because I have been focusing on lucid dreams and my dreams more than I was when attending college last semester. Maybe it's because of lack of stress but is it typical to go through a lucid dream dry spell after having success with lucid dreaming?

You're not a robot, right?

Meaning your dreaming styles will change from time to time. If you want to dream more lucidly then set about the triggers for that: Dream journals, dream keys/symbols, visualizing a lucid routine, intention to lucid dream every night.

And don't -force- yourself to dream anything. Just trust that you're doing everything you can to become aware of your dreams and patience is the only thing needed now.

Finally I got an answer! Yeah, you're right, I should just do what I did when I was having more frequent lucid dreams and I know it will come back, it just comes down to patience now.

Zwynd's advice is excellent.

I've gone through dry spells too. At one point I was having multiple lucid dreams per night, and then I went weeks without a single one.

There are some ways to "cheat." The easiest is to take a short nap 2 hours after you've gotten up. You'll fall asleep quickly and the short distance between awake and asleep helps you remember that you're dreaming.

Polyphasic is where I first learned to lucid dream. Every sleep on polyphasic is a nap. 100% of my naps resulted in lucid dreams while I was doing it. I managed to stay on it for a little over a month, so I had roughly 200 of them in one month!

Sometimes I ask myself in dreams "am I dreaming?" I realized that 100% of the time I ask that question, I am, in fact, dreaming. So I've put that into one of the, I guess you could call it affirmations, that I do throughout the day. I just tell myself a few times from morning to evening "if I ask myself if I am dreaming, the answer is always yes." That's also led to an increase in becoming lucid.

Hope you get over your dry spell soon. Don't sweat it because you will!

Good news though, I just had a lucid dream just this morning! That means this dry spell is over!
