help developing psychic ability

Some ability has come to me without any sort of work. However, I'd like to concentrate on developing my sensing of people and energy more. It is the strongest by far but still weak in comparison to people who've been doing it for years. My psychic hearing is weak as is my seeing and smelling. I'd just like some help from someone more experienced. Insight or advice maybe?

I'm sort of in the same boat as you when it comes to strengthening my psychic abilities. To help myself get better at it, I practice different methods to see what works and doesn't.

After two years of improving my meditation skills, I can now reach my Spirit Guides with greater ease. I'm not as skilled as someone who's been contacting Spirit Guides for years, but that's ok. I know that it's just a skill and it'll take time for me to become competent. At this time, I am unable to contact other people's Spirit Guides, just my own.

However, I have been able to communicate with deceased loved ones through dreams. My mother and grandmother have given me messages pertaining to my own life or to the life of a loved one. Their advice has been spot on.


To educate myself psychically, I'm:

1. Listening to Steve and Erin's podcast on psychic abilities. I listen to it several times a week to raise my vibration.

2. I'm reading Destiny of Souls by Micheal Newton. This books is about how souls evolve after death. It's been a great read

3. In a few days I will begin reading The Law of Attraction by the Hicks. Even though I have been studying the Law of Attraction since early 2007, I still don't know everything about it. But who does, right?

I'd try just holding the intention. I did that this morning and it was amazing how clearer I could desifer things. With holding the intention and then ton's of practice I'm sure you'll be fine. Experience does great in accordance to any skill you can learn.

I think I may have claircognizance. I have experiences where I've been able to tell when someone is lying. I've finished people sentences like I know what they're thinking but I don't actually hear anything. I predicted that my fathers marriage would last a year and right after they're first anniversary they divorced. At first I didn't think anything was strange about what I "just know". I thought that what I "know" is obvious and that everyone knows. I actually predicted the death of my two friends. The first I just knew he would die but the second I knew how he would die and even when. As weird as it sounds i didn't think anything of it and I actually thought that it was obvious to other people that my friends were going to die. When I get these premonitions it's like someone is telling it to me but without a voice. or sometimes it seems like I'm remembering something thats all ready happened. It's like a thought that not my own. I don't see or sense anything I just know. I can't really control it these "thoughts" just come whenever. I just want to know if this is actually claircognizance or just coincidence. If it's something that I can learn to control or just turn off and on.

It seems there are a lot of us that are still trying to find our way. I think we need someone who's been strengthening their abilities for a while. Why do these people seem to be so hard to come by? I'd like to hear from all you guys. Maybe we can start some kind of group outside of the forum so we can learn from one another and maybe improve faster. Facebook maybe???

A lot of this came to me without trying. But I've reached a point now where I know that this is 100% real and I'd like to hone it. What were your own experiences in psychic development? Did it come naturally or was it something you had to work at?

Most people have limited ability on their own, but to gain real skill, it takes a great deal of practice, especially in meditation. You should definitely look into learning some of these things. Try:

I must say I'm no psychic, but I do think you may have some kind of psychic ability. If I were you I'd look up websites/ books to help you learn and develop your skills. Oh and also I'm sure there is someway for you to be able to turn it on and off.

Create a development circle. Find people who live near you locally who are willing to be part of a development circle. James Van Praagh describes them in one of his books.

I also recommend you get some of the psychic development CDs put out by the professionals (I'll have some out at some point too).

And read books written by the psychics you're wanting to emulate. Lots of great info in there.

I, too, sometimes know things before they happen. And sometimes when they happen, even though the incidents occurred on different continents.

When you hold an intend what you do is you strictly ask the universe for what you want. For example, you intend to manifest 1,000,000 dollars. Then by holding it you will also reinforce it by looking for it and eventually manifest 1,000,000 dollars. (It's no magic potion though =/)

It's not really about doing. It's more about holding the intention for what you want, and then making your actions congruent with it.

I'm trying to start a psychic development group in my town also.

Anyone want to email me with training ideas? I am eager to master this. You DO NOT have to be born with it, or have a near death experience inorder to be a clairvoyant. I think one has to practice meditation and discipline the mind first. Also, affirm that you are becoming more psychic. Visualize more and try to live in the moment.
