dreaming of people I haven't seen for some time and crossing paths a short time later

The title says it all. I had three experiences within the year:

1st: I had a classmate for a class. Semester ended and we never kept in contact. About a few months later, I have a dream of this person. The next day, we cross paths in a building.

2nd: My second experience is the wierdest because I had absolutely no kind of relationship with this person. We knew of each other and would say "hi" at times. We never had a conversation though. And no, I never had a crush on her or anything.

I dreamed of her and about a week or so later, I see her at an aisle in a store.

3rd: About a week or so ago, I had a dream of a childhood friend I haven't talked to for years. Today, I crossed paths with my oldtime friend.

My experiences trip me out. At first, I felt a bit frightened. But I'm cool with it now. I'm just dumbfounded. What do these experiences mean? Or is it completely pointless to even go there?

I would say who cares HOW it happens and instead focus on the thought that you've now got hours till 'so and so' appears and are at an advantage:

You can then prepare in advance to say what you'd like to them without that "Oh wow, I haven't seen you in so long..uh, well let's catch up...yeah" impulse conversation.^^

It also happened to me and also to my mother, but not in a dream. It sometimes happen that I suddenly think of someone without any apparent connection to my thoughts, and a few days later see this person.
I usually think it is some kind of telepathic connection.

The thing that happened to my mother is that she was just suddenly thinking of other far family members we hadn't heard of from a long time, and a few hours later they called us by phone.

I also heard people say that dogs sometimes bark when someone known to them is going to call, a few minutes before the phone rings.
