Hi, I had a quick look around the forum but I couldn't find anything relating to what I need. I'm really sorry if this has been discussed before, if it has, then please just direct me to where I can read about it. Well, I have recently become quite interested in developing my psychic abilities. I've never had any psychic experiences that I know of - if I have, then knowing me I passed them off as being something else. I am interested in being able to connect with my spirit guides. I am at a place in my life right now where I am really not convinced that I'm heading in the right direction. It's stressing me out a lot. And I've heard that spirit guides can help you verify where you are supposed to go, so I'd really like to contact them. I've done some reading on the subject, but there is so much information out there that I really don't know where to begin. I've never done anything spiritual before and I've never meditated. I feel a bit lost - just where do I begin? and how do I begin? And how do I know when I've contacted a spirit guide? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Tina |

Hi Tina, I'd recommend that you visit Erin's blog as she has a lot of information there in various articles. She and Steve have also just done an excellent podcast that covers the topic of spirit guides. I recently also did a series of articles on developing a relationship with your spirit guides. Part 1 is available at Woo-Woo Wisdom: Developing A Relationship With Your Spirit Guides (Part 1) and Part 2 at Woo-Woo Wisdom: Developing A Relationship With Your Spirit Guides (Part 2) |

There are dozens of posts about connecting with your spirit guides at Slade Roberson's blog, Shift Your Spirits. Here's one example: How Do Your Spirit Guides Respond to You? : Shift Your Spirits |

Thanks everyone for directing me to more information. I have also been looking around the internet more and I think I will try to begin with meditation since my mind is terribly noisy and busy all the time. Thanks, Tina |

I just finished reading Woo-Woo Part 1 and 2 and I feel much better. Soon after I read it I began having a discussion with my guide or guides and this beats talking to living people because I was running my mouth letting go of all my frustration and anger about my situation and it felt great. Do you speak to your guides? I felt a cold chill and goose bumps appeared I guess because I was a little nervous at first but then I got into the swing of things.

The technique I've used to very good effect is finding a comfortable position - laying down is even fine if that's the way you can be most relaxed - concentrating on my breathing for a few minutes: In through the nose as deeply as possible, hold my breath for ten heart beats, release the breath through my mouth. I do this several (about twelve or 16 times). Then I picture myself on the banks of a fast-flowing river. I concentrate on creating as much detail as possible in the vision. I include all aspects of my five ordinary senses: I SEE the water, the trees, the myriad colors of leaves and grass and rock; I HEAR the babbling water gurgle and splash over the rocks in the riverbed, the way the breeze rustles the leaves and makes a whispering sound as they rub together; I FEEL the breeze caress my face and the splashes of the water that gets kicked up in the air by the spalshing water in the river; I SMELL the wild mushrooms in the mouldering leaves on the forest floor, the pine needles and cedar sap as it wafts on the breeze - I even SMELL the half-eaten and decaying Sockeye that bobs and dips on the edge of the stream in an eddie; I TASTE the moisture in the air and way the evergreens sit on the wind with their sharp tang. Once I have this Vision created as Truly as possible, I turn my attention to the steam itself. You see, the Stream is my thoughts. I allow the stream to run rough and swollen as if from a long winter's snow-melt or heavy spring shower. Then, I begin to reduce the amount of water that flows in the stream. From a raging torrent to a fast-running river. From a river to a stream. From a stream to a creek. From a creek to a rill. From a rill to a trickle. ...then dry. My mind is quiet and I have entered the Nagual. That's how I do it anyway. Maybe it will work for you. Maybe not. But you'll never know if you don't try | |
