Complete beginner!

Hi,

I had a quick look around the forum but I couldn't find anything relating to what I need. I'm really sorry if this has been discussed before, if it has, then please just direct me to where I can read about it.

Well, I have recently become quite interested in developing my psychic abilities. I've never had any psychic experiences that I know of - if I have, then knowing me I passed them off as being something else. I am interested in being able to connect with my spirit guides. I am at a place in my life right now where I am really not convinced that I'm heading in the right direction. It's stressing me out a lot. And I've heard that spirit guides can help you verify where you are supposed to go, so I'd really like to contact them.

I've done some reading on the subject, but there is so much information out there that I really don't know where to begin. I've never done anything spiritual before and I've never meditated. I feel a bit lost - just where do I begin? and how do I begin? And how do I know when I've contacted a spirit guide?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd recommend that you visit Erin's blog as she has a lot of information there in various articles. She and Steve have also just done an excellent podcast that covers the topic of spirit guides.

Thanks everyone for directing me to more information. I have also been looking around the internet more and I think I will try to begin with meditation since my mind is terribly noisy and busy all the time. If I can learn how to make my brain be quiet then I may stand more of a chance of connecting with my spirit guides. I will also try the technique of journalling - where I type a question I need help with and just write down whatever "pops" into my head. Hopefully that will get me somewhere!

Depends on your gift i would say, but meditation is a good place to start. also lots of "WHY IT WORKS" , What are your gifts?
