An interesting experience, what do i do?
I learned about astral projection, and out of body experiences a little over a year ago, and have wanted to have one, and although i am familiar with them, i have never had the patience to do many astral projection exercises on a regular basis.
However, recently i have been doing one semi-related exercise, where i find myself in that stage where my thoughts are getting vivid and intense, and realize that i am about to fall asleep, and acknowledge it, and usually wake myself up. Last night, something a little out of the ordinary happened.
It was around 12:00, I was in bed trying to go to sleep, and i noticed that i was going to be heading in that pre-sleep stage. So i tell myself, alright lets let my thoughts flow, and i will realize when they start to get dreamlike. As I lay in bed, just chilling and thinking, at some point i realized i was just about to dream, but instead of snapping out of this state and waking up like usual, something different happened.
I first went into this feeling of deepness, and then I gained complete consciousness, and my body grew somewhat numb and started vibrating, it felt like i was put into n enclosed box with sand around it, with the box being shaken very very quickly and hard. And i was hearing a sound all around me, that sounded like the cross between static and screeching.
Surprisingly, i wasn't really scared, i just told myself to let whatever was going to happen, happen, and then shortly, there was a small break in the madness. In that break i was just trying to chill, and trying to use one of robert bruce's techniques to pull myself out of body, and then the shaking started again, and i was still pretty calm. And during this time, i had a flash of nervousness, and the vibrations broke, and i knew i was completely awake.
I had one similar experience to this, however, it was slightly different, and that was just a dream.
But i have a few questions, first of all, I'm not completely sure what i did to induce this experience, and don't know what it was, how can i do this again? My other question is where do i go from here, what do i do when this happens again?
Any feedback is much appreciated.

As a sometimes astral projector, I would recommend trying to repeat the circumstances. Go to bed around the same time at midnight, relax and let your thought flow, being aware. If you find yourself in the vibratory state, imagine yourself moving up to the ceiling. Or try rolling out of your body. The more you experience this state, the less nervous you get. If you have a focus (like where you want to go) then you are also more likely to stay calm. Good luck!
