Kinda understand the dream

Just wondering....I lost a dear friend at the end of 2006. He is in my thoughts reguarly. My dream just a couple nights back was about him. Not him in person, but about him. I saw his possessions and people who have passed in and out of my life. They are still alive. As I believe in the afterlife and intuition I believe it was him trying to communicate with me. The next day my son has a surfing competition and the number 2 sat instinctively with me and I could hear it in my mind. As it was, my son was placed 2nd in his division in the finals. I have no doubts that this was what my friend was relaying to me. Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing? I am blessed to have this gift of somehow knowing but this time it was incredibly clear. Does it mean that I am getting more in touch with my intuition and connecting with it on a deeper level? Any thoughts or words of wisdom?
