Default Results of practicing lucid dreaming?

I've clocked 9 lucid dreams now and the reoccurring theme that keeps on happening is that not only am I feeling things in my dream (even though I'm not lucid during those times) but I've been recalling 7 dreams in one night (4 to 5 dream recall is becoming more normal for me) after having 2 lucid dreams! My question is this, is it normal to have this happen to you as a result of learning and using lucid dreaming?

Yes, working on lucid dreaming will naturally result in you remembering more of your regular, non-lucid dreams.

I gotta tell ya people... going to sleep at night is really exciting for me. The possibilities are endless when you can lucid dream. Whatever you can think about, you can dream about

I wonder how many I will end up remembering once I really master this skill? Yeah, I can't wait until I can speed up time in my dream world so I can be in there for hours when only minutes pass by (eventually moving on to years, for a certain reason). I'll keep working on it!

Would Lucid Dreamers clarify one or two things. For me, dreams are really valuable things that offer insight into how I've been feeling or the door to my subconscious mind.

Don't people here feel that by Lucid Dreaming and being able to manipulate their own dreams, that they might be removing all this or does it just enhance the whole thing.

Also anybody mind confirming a rumour I once heard, that Lucid Dreaming directly impacts the quality of your sleep. It'll be as if you stayed up all night...?

I don't lucid dream for every dream. I do feel it's important to see what my mind and subconscious want me to see as well. Since we dream 4-6 dreams every night, I figure a few here and there won't matter. Sometimes I indulge in an all night, long, continuous lucid dream... but not every night.

When you wake from lucid dreaming you will usually feel very perky and alert, better even then when you wake up from normal dreaming. So no... doesn't feel like you've been up all night.

Lucid dreaming can't impact the quality of your sleep,because are you still dreaming the same amount of time as you would be anyway. Your body is still resting,which is all that is ever resting when you're sleeping anyway!

The only problem i had,when i first started practicing this,is i would wake up literally EVERY hour,after about 3 hours of sleep,so i would only get like 5 or 6 hours in a night,because i had to keep sitting up,finding my journal,writing in it,and then get back to sleep. Sometimes i would be awake for an hour,remembering details,writing them all down,and trying to fall back asleep. Thats the only reason i haven't been able to master this yet because I can't function on less than 7 hours a night,especially not that many nights in a row. How do you guys get past that issue? Or don't you have that problem? After a year of trying,I'm still not even able to lucid dream very much,maybe for a few minutes out of every few months,and even then i dont have full control and things are still not vivid. What do you guys do to lucid dream? I'm curious if there are other simpler things to try,because i've only read one book about it (the one by Steven LaBerge or something like that,i forget exactly)

I disagree with the 4-6 dreams a night, I mean, I clearly remembered 7 separate dreams, so I think it might vary depending on how much sleep you get. It never impacted my sleep cycles, I usually get around 7-8 hours of sleep per night. I actually haven't been trying for years like some of you have, I've been at it for about 6 months now and I've been having 1-2 lucid dreams per month. I think it has to do in part with natural talent for it (I've been trying for years to astral project but I never had a single concious one, so that might have trained me for lucid dreaming I think) and determination, I don't try to remember every dream, just the one's that really stand out with me.

I'm not that concerned with how many lucid dreams I have, just how much control I have over them, such as exploring my time distortion abilities (like being in a dream for hours when in reality, only a couple of minutes have passed).

I've had dreams that cover 6 weeks of content in just an hour or so. In other words, in my dream I live about 6 weeks only to come back and find an hour has really passed.

I have more than 6 dreams a night, but the average, apparently, is 4-6. Some people will claim they don't dream, but in reality they just don't remember their dreams.

An easy (or lazy) way for me to induce a lucid dream is to wake up at 5am, which happens often as Steve gets up at 5 and shaves, and does his morning bathroom routine quite loudly, and then when he leaves the room I go back to sleep and almost always have a lucid dream. I usually get up around 6:30am.

When I want to remember my lucid dreams here is what I do.
Step 1: Oh cool, I had an awesome lucid dream that I want to remember.
Step 2: Go back to sleep and dream that I tell someone what I just dreamed.
Step 3: Wake up and tell someone for real what I just dreamed.

Wow Erin, I never thought of using my lucid dreams to remember a lucid dream! I do agree with the not remembering dreams idea, I know I do dream, but sometimes I don't remember having any dreams when I awaken (maybe that's why I seem to get these 7-dreams-in-one-night episodes), but I still do know I dream.

I wish this worked for me! I usually wake up before i'm supposed to get up,and when i fall back asleep,my dreams are not lucid. I heard that in order for this to work,you have to get up and stay up for at least an hour. That's only worked for me once,but i HATE getting up in the middle of my sleep,it ruins my whole day. Has it always been easy for you to induce lucid dreams this way,or it is something that gets better with experience?

lol I actually did this once without trying,but it wasnt a lucid dream,it was just a regular dream where i told someone about another regular dream LOL I need to buy that NovaDreamer cuz i just have sucky luck at this lucid dreaming stuff!

Maybe that might work for you Rockchick26, I remember I used to use those binaural beats cds to try astral projection and lucid dreaming but they never worked for me.

Do you guys actually write down ALL of your dreams. I used to, but it is so time consuming...I would usually end up writing well into my shower time, and then running around like a madman in the morning. So I stopped. I wish I could write down all of my dreams (because I do have an excellent recall), but I just do not have the time. Any suggestions?

That's what I do when I feel I don't have enough time to recall my dreams, I just jot notes down of feelings and the like (like when I dreamed 7 dreams and 2 lucid dreams in one night).
