Astral projection and evolution
 

I am interested in exploring the astral universe, and i am trying to align this mindset with my current beliefs, such as Darwinian theory of evolution. So here are some silly questions: :)

when did humans learn to astral project?
what was going oever there in the astral world before the humanity went out of caves?
or even before the soon-to-be-humanity got down from the trees?
have human souls had the same type of evolution, as darwinian theory suggests? (starting from apes' souls :) )

I don't know the history of astral projection but here are some thoughts.

I think humans had the ability to leave their bodies from day one (whenever that really was!). In my view, our souls are in our bodies and we own them, so if we want to move them out of our bodies, we can. Believing we can, knowing we can, are very important prerequisites, though.

I'll bet people had spontaneous out of body experiences all along. They may have called it something else though.

How does astral projection as a separately identified being, or soul, relate to non-duality and unity of universal consciousness?

I'd say it is not an experience that is helpful for evolution. If it would help the organism to survive better you would be constantly astral projecting but instead *this* reality is much better for the survival. Why is there a possibility to have a different experience, another reality? Maybe it's a malfunction, a mutation.

The author, Jerry Gross, claims that everything that is on this earth right now comes from the astral plane. According to Gross, many human beings are focused on Earthly assumptions of life and evolution and get this backwards. They think the astral dimension was molded from Earth. The truth is, the Earth was apparently fashioned from the ideas and discoveries which originated on the astral. In order to grasp this, you need to be willing to let go of assumptions you have and open your mind to new ideas.:rolleyes:
