During my teenage years I discovered that one of my natural psychic talents was telepathy. I was able to pick up thoughts from other people and even impress a thought into another person to do something. My question is this, is it that good of a talent? I mean, telekenesis would be really awesome to have, not picking up other people's thoughts or making someone suddenly have the urge to do a certain thing. Any thoughts on this?

I guess you are right Tigerlilly, but being able to read or send thoughts isn't really that valuable to most people. From what I heard from other people, it's something that anyone could do easily from what I heard, so I didn't place much emphasis on using it as much as I should have. It's just that it isn't as concrete as being able to move things with your mind, telepathy can be easily reasoned away by anyone, but telekenesis can't as easily. I guess I should start valuing this gift more. |

I agree, although some telepathic skills are generally looked down on, such as controlling minds of other people. It's one of those things that I thought about as a teenager but decided against it, probably wouldn't be much fun to do and I can't see what value that kind of experience would have for me.

| I don't exlpain it to anyone except those closest to me that I trust. I also don't have to tell anyone how strange that would sound to hear anyone confess that ability. Years ago when I first started to see the human aura I gave up wishing for the truth to be what I wanted it to be and accepted the truth for what it is. Nobody who is content with their life really wants to hear about these abilities because if they could bring themselves to understand them then it also opens up a pandoras box of other considerations such as life outside of corporeal death, other influences outside of our own awareness and many others, I let the sleepers sleep.

Billy & Mew: What do you guys try to do with your powers? I mean, assuming that you're able to use them consistently enough, they could definitely come in very useful in certain kinds of situations. For example, if you were a counsellor or a police detective or a psychiatrist. |

I mostly use it to communicate with my cats actually. I also sometimes use it to influence others (not control them) to have them do something that I really don't want to do, like they suddenly have the urge to do it for whatever reason. I haven't had much time to practice lately but I'm kind of staying away from the full control of people (even though no research has been done on it, so who knows what extent you could influence people).

I'm in my mid thirties so the police force is probably out of my options but I have thought of being a counsellor or therapist, but as far as controlling people I havn't tried that and wouldn't use it if I could. I have thought of poker tournaments the only problem is that I have to hear the person speak a bit and get the nuances of their speech patterns so as to gain a focus on them, its the same as talking to someone for the first time verbally you have to see their face and get to know them a little bit to know who you are talking to without seeing them, there are just so many to sort out in a room and a lot of peoples thoughts are just a constant babble, but it could be fun.
