Passing through doors

Hi... this is the first time I've posted here, but I wondered if others had had this experience.

For the longest time now I've had a sense of not being alone. It's particularly noticeable if I look through or towards a doorway. I feel like I'm just glimpsing someone "passing through" the doorway. It's always shadowy, and pale - ghostly if you like. I try not to believein ghosts 'coz I scare easily, but boy oh boy sometimes it can really get my heckles up.

I have to admit it's rare for me to see these things straight on - looking at them with my eyes or watching doorways directly - it's usually that something catches the corner of my eye and I look towards whatever it was and I get the sense or vision of something pale and whispy person-shaped passing through. I think it's mostly a woman, but I can't be certain.

Can someone give me any possible explanation of this? Am I just seeing things (could it be my glasses reflecting weirdly or something) or does this happen to others?

I've not ever mentioned this to anyone in public before, but I get the feeling readers of this part of the Forum might understand.

For years I've actually had that persistent feeling that I'm not alone in the house when I am alone (if that makes any sense!). Could this be that feeling manifested?

You are never alone. We all have Spirit Guides and Allies that are with us all the time.

I don't know if that is what you are experiencing, but it is one possibility.

Another possibility is that you are seeing a "ghost" or spirit that has not fully crossed over.

Either way, it's not something to fear or block out. I'd encourage you to try to communicate with this entity through prayer or meditation.

There's a lot of threads in this forum that have great suggestions on how to do that and Erin is usually very responsive to personal questions like this.

Are ghosts that haven't yet passed over usually someone you know for you to see them? If not, then is that a "haunting" as it were, not that I've been intimidated by them... just get the spooks!

I keep on telling myself that I need to spend some time being very still and quiet and seeing if I can make some kind of connection so then I don't need to feel spooked anymore.

Hope Erin does see this - would be interested in her opinion.

Welp, it's hard for me to say without seeing what you're seeing. Often times I think I see something out of the corner of my eye and it even feels like a person or a person's energy, but I'm not actually convinced it's anything but my mind playing tricks on me. Funny coming from a medium eh?

Here is what I do know.

It is possible that it's a ghost, and it's possibly it isn't. Without experiencing it myself I couldn't say. But I wouldn't discount it if you have the "creeps" when you experience it.

Decide if you want that sort of thing to happen or not, though, because if you allow it in your house other things might set up shop there too.

Maybe I'll keep pretending I don't see it .. might be safer.

When do you know when to let "something in" and when not to? how do I know this is a safe whatever it is, if it is something?

So many questions. Sorry about that! It's just nice to be able to talk about this without feeling a total idiot. I don't discount that I might be seeing something, but I'd be just as happy if I learned that I wasn't seeing anything at all

You have a lot more power than you give yourself credit for. You can either accept these occurrences or deny them - but simply pretending you're not seeing anything is like pretending you don't see a bus about to hit you.

IF (still a big IF here) you are experiencing some form of Spiritual entity there's a reason and until you deal with the reason, things aren't likely to simply stop happening.

You must be open in some way to allow this energy to manifest itself for you. Whether it's your Spirit Guides simply letting you know they're there for you, or some other spirit that has figured out you notice it, unless you take active steps to alter your situation, things are unlikely to get better. You have to either be open to the point of understanding what you're experiencing, or stop being open altogether. Either way, it's an active endeavor.

My opinion - just that, an opinion - is that getting in touch with your Spirit Guides and asking them what's up is the most reliable way of dealing with this. And heck, what do you have to lose... at the very least you'll create a relationship with the Spirits whose sole job is to get you to do what you're supposed to do anyway and at best you'll grow into a gifted medium who can help not just the living deal with death and dying, but help those who haven't been able or willing to finish their journey to do so.

Wow... that's one of those things that there are so many ways to do it and everyone has their own thoughts on the matter.

Some use meditation, some use prayer, some use ritual... You just have to figure out what works for you.

From your post, it sounds like you're either from Australia or New Zeland. There are a couple hundred Aboriginal Nations in Australia - just about every one of which practices Spirit Communication. They normally come at it from the perspective of the Dream Time but the concept is the same.

In NZ, the Maori also have a very strong spititual path that includes communicating with their Spirit Guides.

In fact, almost universally, the religions and practices of indigenous peoples throughout the world center around seeking aid and advice from our Spirit Allies and Ancestors.

Communicating with Spirit is just like any other talent. Some people are born with a gift, some people have to work hard at it. But anyone can do it.

I'm not a teacher, but if you're interested, I'd be happy to share with you how I do it.
