I had a weird dream last night.

I was outside (at my parents’ house, for some reason) and I was with a friendboyfriend (don’t ask!). Soon a guy is obviously trying to break into my parents’ house, and my friendboy says something to him, and the guy backs off. My friendboy is pointing a gun at him. Then the other guy has his own gun pointed at my friendboy. Since I am in closer proximity to the offender, he gets the idea to point the gun at me instead, knowing that my friendboy obviously will not do anything to put my life in danger. Then the offender takes off. My friendboy leaves.

Later there is a commotion in the neighborhood. A violent crime has been committed. Soon I see the same guy from earlier coming out of the bushes. I shoot him.

Trying to figure out the meaning of this. Does this mean that no one can protect me and that I can't depend on anyone but myself? I’m not in any kind of dangerous situations in real life.

Freud would say the gun is a male appendage and that the two men were fighting over you.

How did you feel when you woke up? What emotion were you feelign in the dream?

Yeah, well, Freud also smoked cigars. You can take that however you want.

Seriously, though, Erin has a great point Pegasus. When I have dreams that are more than dreams, I usually know it. There's normally something "special" about it. A regular dream for me kind of plays out like a movie - audio and video only. Special dreams either have me Lucid in them, or there are other senses at work than just seeing and hearing. I'll SMELL something or FEEL something or TASTE something. Sometimes, I have incredibly powerful emotions in dreams. These emotions help me figure out the message I'm supposed to be getting because the a/v portion of the dream is less important.

How I felt?

during the dream: fearful/scared; things started okay but got progressively worse

upon waking: A bit alarmed. Normally my dreams are forgotten or uneventful.
