Default Afraid to forecast bad things

When I read some person's stories, I sometimes clearly see the future. And this picture is not always pleasant.

What should I do? Should I tell or should I stay silent?

By myself I feel it's better to stay silent. I can't say: "You're doomed. The things are bad and there's nothing you can do".

You could say, "From the looks of it, the path you're on now doesn't look like it's going to end well. You may want to take some steps to correct your course." Or something like that.

Thanks, Erin!

The problem is that I usually don't perceive which steps to take. I just see the gloomy picture and feel that something is wrong. And if the person already takes some steps to change his/her situation, it's no use telling: "Your steps are wrong, you should make something completely different", IMO.

Another problem of mine is that I'm afraid of the responsibility I take, involving myself into the situation. I only see the picture, and I haven't learned yet how to distinguish if it's real or just my opinion/imagination. There're no spirits yet, insisting: "Tell him/her what we showed you!"

So I wait and learn...

Well you're on the right path, just keep tuning in and listening.

yes the responsibility is high. That's one of the things I had to reconcile before I started doing this work.

And trust in your guides is vital.

I called the death and timing of husband's favorite author. About 7 years in advance. I actually teased him frequently that he'd die of a rare incurable disease right before he finished the last book. It was my justification for never reading him. He died last year, of a rare incurable blood disease while he was working on the last book.

Go ahead and call it. It can't hurt. It might help somebody, and you'll get a neat reputation.

Well, not in my case I think. (I mean the case, which incited me to write this thread). I saw certain doom for one person's marriage and relationship. That man is struggling. And I beleive, now, after I've taken some time to analyse, that it's not correct to tell him, because even if/when his marriage is destroyed, he'll learn some valuable lessons.

That's my final decision about this particular case.

General conclusion - every time think twice and do what you must do.
