Scary Animal Spirit Guides

Hi everyone! I have just recently began reading and learning about Animal Spirit Guides. After reading about them and the types of animal spirit guides, I realized I had made a horrible mistake.

See, two years ago I moved in to a house by myself. This was the first time I lived alone. Ever since the first day I moved into the house, I started to notice there were spiders coming out of everywhere...the closets, the kitchen, the garden, the bathroom. Some were tiny, and some were huge, some were scary and some were cute...there was no pattern, so that we could say that there was a specific type of spider infesting the house. I used to not care too much about bugs, I didn´t particularly like them, but I didn´t hate them either. However, after several surprise encounter with these many spiders, I began to get really freaked out...especially when I found a HUGE brown recluse in my towel in the bathroom, and another time when I found a black widow peacefully resting on my pillow. I became phobic of spiders...I had panic attacks when I saw one and had horrible nightmares with spiders. I started to have episodes where, I would wake up and literally see (with my eyeballs) millions of spiders on my bed on top of me...everywhere...and I would start to scream and when I turned the lights on...they were gone. There was even this time, when I was driving home from work, and a spider appeared crawling on the board of my car...it was chaos..I started screaming and had to stop in the middle of a busy road and got out of my car screaming for help, until this guy looked at me like "WTF" and took care of the problem for me.

Needless to say, I have killed thousands of spiders ever since. I was so phobic and stressed and I was this close to moving out just because of the spiders. Each time I would see one, no matter how small or harmless it looked, I would kill it or ask someone to kill it for me. I had no mercy....I even hired a pest control guy who came to my house and spray some poison on the walls to make sure that if a spider would crawl on it, it would die.

So two years went by and I thought I had won the war...I rarely ever see spiders in my house anymore...ironically, now that I have erradicated every single living aracnid from my house (and probably the whole neighborhood too), I start to read about Animal Spirit Guides and how there is this type of Shadow Spirit Animal Guide, that is suppoused to instill fear in you, but they are also there to give you an importante message.

I am afraid I have killed every single messenger that was sent to me, and I never really got the message. Is there any way I can apologize to the Animal Spirit Guide for what I´ve done? Is there a way to ask for the message again?? Is there a way to recover the harmony that once existed between the animal world and me?? Or am I just going crazy, and did the right thing by eliminating the excess of bugs in my house???

Any advice will be appreciated!

I don't know what spiders represent offhand but a google search on animal guides might reveal something. You don't have to invite them back in to your life in order to get the message.

The Spider

Many stories exist about the weaver, Grandmother spider. She carried on her back the gift of fire in a basket that she wove and presented it to the people. In another story it is said that her web bound all things together and formed the foundation of earth.

This process continues until a frame is constructed in which the web can secure itself. Bridges serve as a link tying all things together and remind us of our interconnectedness to all life.

The spider shows us that the past, the present and the future are all interwoven. It awakens our intuitive creative senses and encourages us to design the fabric of our lives from our souls original intention. If you see a spider in its web, or creating a new one, pay attention. It symbolizes where you are in the weaving of your own destiny. A study of the medicine wheel and the four directions is helpful.

Because spiders are actually very delicate they embody the energy of gentleness. Spiders are not usually aggressive unless they are defending their lives. Moving forward in all situations with a gentle strength is a skill that often needs to be learned for those with this totem. In man, the bite of a poisonous spider symbolizes a death, rebirth process. Poison enters the nervous system and the body either transmutes it or falls victim to its venom and dies.

The spider signifies the tapestry of life. The web we weave is the reality we experience. Choosing the appropriate path is one of the lessons associated with this medicine.

In a particular Journey one time, Spider came to me and the medicine she gave me was what Lola pointed out. She showed me her web as a metaphor for my life and an instruction to "get my house in order and wait."

I don't know what medicine Grandmother may have had for you, but I agree with Erin, you don't have to have her in your house to have her medicine.

Acknowledging your actions and offering sincere apologies to this particular Spirit Ally is a good start. Then, in a prayerful way, asking for guidance on how to mend the relationship and regain the message should help get that back.

Of course, there's no guarantee that she will come back. You may have already done what she needed you to do and not even realized it.

Either way, a prayerful apology is never out of line.

Classic case of arachnophobia. Yes you did the right thing, and no you don't need to apolagize to anyone. Go see a psychiastrist if it keeps bothering you.

I would love to believe that I´m not having a problem that requires psychiatric help I don´t think it´s arachnophobia, because once I read about Animal Spirit Guides, the fear disappeared, and now I feel that I´m ready to face spiders without losing my mind...but I appreciate your advice too. Phobia - an irrational fear in which the person begins to either avoid a specific circumstance or approach it with intense anxiety.

See the match? You've got a phobia. And since your object of fear is spiders, lets just add the correct prefix and call it arachnophobia. The fear of spiders is very common by the way, so you're not alone. But I agree you need psychiatric help. Personally I think these so called "animal spirits" are placebos in your head, but at the end of the day it's not really my business how you chose to help yourself. What matters is that you learn to face (and overcome) your fear. Good luck.

Negrita, it's not to late to learn what she was trying to say. I just hope it wasn't an anti-pesticide message tehe. Seriously though, you already have apologized. It would probably make you feel better if you said it out loud (to them).

Personally, I live with a few spiders myself. I can't stand to kill things but there are places, times and circumstance that make it unavoidable. Black widows and brown recluse in your house would fit all that.
