Some of you might remember me.
A few months back I did an experiment here that I thought went pretty well. I think it was labeled "Wanna try something?"
I was able to tell most people who participated where they were having trouble in their bodies and then I told them where they could look in their eyes to find the evidence.
I got such good feedback that it scared me half to death. Oh! the pressure! It confirmed what I have always known in the back of my mind- that this is what I was meant to do. That I have a special talent and only by following this path would I ever be truely happy.
I am requesting your prayers and intentions to help me fortify my confidence. I long to do what is right, but I cant seem to get over my fear.
It has always been, that when I am at a peak, and ready to leap, my family does everything in their power to squash me down. The stronger I become, the bigger their assault. So in my mind, being ready to meet the world means, being vulnerable to attacks.
I have been the recipient of such unmerited hatred. I fear that everyone will hate me. I cant help what I see. I cant help who I am.
I pray everyday that I can disregard their horrible opinions of me and do something meaningful with my life.
Anyway, I have made a web page. My first step. I could really use some help with it.
If their is anyone out there who would be willing to design a simple site that would allow me to recieve money, and help me with targeting the right audience I would be forever grateful. I couldnt pay much, but we could barter. I have a feeling that advertising is going to cost and arm and a leg. So if anyone knows a good and inexpensive way to advertise I would appreciate it.

Hello!

Good luck with your new venture! I don't really know much about creating websites, but I can suggest that it's easier than you think to create your own, although you'll probably need some help with the back-end (ie the bit that allows people to pay you, but I think you can buy programs for that). You can use programs such as Microsoft FrontPage (or even Word) to create a simple, yet effective webpage, which is also cost-effective if you already have the office suite. You can find plenty of information about this by doing a google search. I learnt some basic HTML this way and found it very useful. If you do decide to go this way, feel free to PM me as there's a few other things that may help you create your own.

If you're really after some good information for setting up a web business, i've recently read through countless threads in the Business & Financial forums, and I daresay that the technology & technical skills one would have some helpful ones as well. There's plenty of good advice for setting up web businesses, and a couple of tips on advertising as well. Most people in those areas are happy to provide advice, and it might be easier to find someone who would have the skills required to help you out.

Regarding your family trying to squash you down, you don't have to put up with that. If you're strong enough to face the world, you're not really vulnerable to attack. It's just that the more prominent you are, the more you become a target. If you're really passionate about something, don't let fear of hurt/failure stop you. Of course your family will have opinions, and of course they will matter to you, but at the end of the day, it's your opinion that matters because it's your life. And sometimes, we have to be a little selfish. Perhaps look at the Personal Effectiveness forum for some tips on dealing with that!

Anyway, I'll stop rambling and wish you every success with what you're setting out to do. I hope I've been helpful in some way!

Did you buy a domain name?
I think you can download some kind of site template and edit it. I'm not good at that kind of stuff but maybe it's not as hard as I think I'm trying to make a site also but I annoyed my roommate into helping me
Google: free site templates - and pick the one you like, you can change the pictures in them and the text. I don't know what happens after that. Bleh...I feel like a noob
