Is This An Astral Projection? I was laying on my couch one night just relaxing and enjoying the quietness. After just a couple minutes I felt a cool tingling sensation on the top of my head, kind of like a vibration. The next thing I know I am rising up to the ceiling. It was pretty dark in the room so I couldn't see myself but the moonlight was shining through the window and I could see my cat sitting on the window sill above my couch looking out of the window... It only lasted about 5 seconds because I got a little creeped out so I fell back down and when I sat up I seen my cat sitting in the same place at the window. I haven't told to many people about it... the ones have told just say "oh you just fell asleep and had a dream." But it's one of those things that you know you weren't dreaming or sleeping. It hasn't happened since and it was over a year ago now. Not sure I really want it to after staying up all night reading Erins' blog about vampires and other goblins :D I read somewhere that lucid dreaming is connected to astral projection, that when you learn to lucid dream it is easier to project. I do lucid dream often but not really any kind of master at it. |
Yeah that sounds like a spontaneous out of body experience. |
I thought so... It was pretty cool but freaky at the same time. I don't think I thought of so many different things at one time like that moment. I knew I wasn't dreaming but still did some dream checks anyways and nothing was working... the next thought was oh my gosh I am dying! |
I've had that "oh my gosh I must be dead" experience a few times. It's pretty creepy. |
astral projeection Hi I have found over the years that there is a lot of BS spoken about this natural phenomena. There are three ways to check if you are astral travelling or in some fantasy. The first is that everything you see is vivid colour and the second is that there is a silver cord connecting your projected self back to your body. Also, you will feel a sucking kind of sensation as you return to your body. All children astral project naturally but most get educated away from it in later life. If you have projected try and repeat the circumstances it occured in and tell your inner systems that you want to do it again. A good way to do this would be to project a time a few hours in advance and settle down to see if you can repeat it. The more you do it, the more skilled you can become and the more you can do. I hope this is of some help. Good luck. Will Richards Quote:

I've seen the silver cord 2 or 3 times out of hundreds of projections. |

project i, too, had an interesting experience, but didn't know what it was. i didn't try for it, it just happened. Was sleeping in bed and felt this pulling sensation from my side. A strong pulling. i could feel myself being pulled out of my body, and there were red and soft white and other colored " strands " stretching from my physical body to me, and then i was in the hallway outside my bedroom door ( which was closed ), and i was disoriented and confused and couldn't see very well, and i could move but was scared to walk anywhere, and then like a vacuum i was back in my body in the bed. What wierded me out was knowing i didn't try to leave my body, and that the pulling me out of myself seemed to come from outside of me. Or does it just feel that way? It only happened once, but it really scared me. These people here talk about a silver cord and how they left through the top of thier heads. How is it, then, that i was pulled out from the side and there were colours, but not what i would call a silver cord? |
I don't leave my body through my head. I go out the side. Colors are common. Don't worry too much about what you see. I have had experiences where it felt like i was being pulled out of my body by someone else and experiences where I definitely did the whole thing myself. Common. As to who pulled you... could have been a spirit guide or angel, could have been another person, could have been someone nefarious, etc. |
astral Erin- Ok, so this gets me thinking. If you can leave your body and still be " conscious ", still be aware...then what this means is that YOU are not your body. i mean to say, even without the presence of a physical body, one still continues to exist. Doesn't that then mean that if you were to die, or your body was to die, that the energy or spirit within would continue to exist even without a physical form? i'm kinda putting the pieces together here. It's easy to fear death because we don't know for sure whether we continue to be ( even without our bodies ), or if when our bodies die, we completely cease to be. Doesn't the experience of astral projection ( whether done consciously or not ) prove that we continue to exist even without a body? And shouldn't that knowledge ease ones fear of dying? In essence, without a physical form, we are freed, right? Or am i looking at this all wrong? |
It's like you're asking me if peanut butter tastes good with jelly on bread. :) Of course we are not our bodies. They are just the shell to our peanut. our consciousness, our spirits, inhabit these lower density bodies in order to have an experience and when we're done or when someone kills our body off we go, leaving it behind like just so much garbage. ;) |
It sounds very much like Astral Projecting. On the astral you move as fast as your thoughts. Train yourself to think kindly when you find yourself thinking scary. You find it seems more real than your daily waking. Don't be afraid, when we are fearful we create fearful things. Think kindly to anything that comes along and your experiences should be very good. Keep working at it. Happy Easter. |
