Signs, synchronicities, what are they trying to tell ou

Hi Erin, i am new to this site, and i have posted something in the psychic forum, about a similar thing, although i would never call myself psychic, i would descirbe it more as being tuned in! certainly for myself anyway! When i started meditating about 18 months ago, and started asking my guides for help (they can't speak to me, i don't get visions or anything like that) but things do keep croping up, i guess you could call them signs or syncronicities, now its funny how i posted a new thread asking about signs etc and what they mean, then, yesterday (I am in a band, we write electronic stuff, and i am about to release a record, its nothing exciting because i am doing it myself i have'nt been signed yet) so i need a name for the band, i was playing around with ORTEGA, but no one seems to like it, so yesterday i thought thats it, i need a new name, i am not using ORTEGA any more, within about 2 hours i was in a bookshop, and sat down to read something and right in front of me, there was a book written by someone called ORTEGA, an important point to make is that i have never seen this name anywhere apart from when i have googled it! but there it was right in front of me! now the dilemma is it was a spainish cook book, lol, is something trying to tell me its a naff name? or are they trying to tell me to use it, bearing in mind i had decided not to use it, and it was a final decision on my part, why would they be telling me to not use it, if i am not going to use it anyway, this happens alot with me, and i can never work out what they are telling me, so they may as well not bother, unless their system is actually much simpler than i thought or anyone else thinks, finding a name for a band is the hardest most stressful thing to do, i have finished an album and an E.P and i can safely say trying to come up with a name has been the hardest thing to do>

Signs and synchronicities can sometimes be hard to interpret and sometimes they are easy. Time and experience are helpful to get to know your guides' style, but in the meantime, that doesn't help you much. Either Ortega is the name you are supposed to use or your Reticular Activation System is firing on the word Ortega. I couldn't say just from what you've posted what it means yet.

When I hear Ortega, I think "cheap Mexican food" 'cause Ortega is the name of a company that makes taco shells, etc. for grocery stores here. Not sure if it's nationwide or not.

Maybe that was your spirit guides' way of saying "Don't use this name! Unless you want people to get cravings for cheap Mexican food!"

Maybe you could use it in a name, like Jose Ortega or something.

Ortega was - still is, I guess - the surname of Daniel Ortega, current El Presidenté of Nicaragua. Not sure how appropriate that would be.

But perhaps it's an anagram of something. Age Rot? Rat Ego? hmmm... maybe not...

LOL, well im English, so it does'nt mean anything over here! if you take the name Oasis, hugely successful band in England, it's also the brand for tampons, and a soft drink as well, it is hard to work out what they are telling you, is it not just simple, they show you something, you use it/follow it, they don't show you, you don't, or if it is clear cut then they don't need to, surely thats how it works!!!!!! other wise it just gets very confusing

It's when you are thinking about something and suddenly start seeing it everywhere. It was always there but you're noticing it now because you're focused on it. For example when Steve and I were car shopping we were trying to decide between a Honda and a Toyota and we started seeing both of them everywhere. Well, after we bought the car we stopped seeing them everywhere because we were no longer actively looking so it dropped off our radar.

I'm sure you know that the mind sees so much but cannot store it all in memory. So what you focus on is what you remember, but it's still all out there.

Oh sure, but the important thing to remember is how accessable is this information, if you are talking about cars, then if you drive they are everywhere, and its very likely to see the cars that you metioned! when something is a bit more obscure as in a name that isn't popular, or when it's your name next to someone else's a lot etc, it is more difficult to spot it, you can't really orchestrate it, i have decided to use the name anyway, another important thing is timing as well

It's not that name that really matters, its the band.

You can have an awesome sounding name, but if the band is no good than the name means nothing, conversely you can have a bizarre name but the band is great, everyone loves the name.

Metallica for example, Metal-licker? what type of name is that?

I'd say just go with the first thing that comes to mind and don't look back, creativity doesn't have to be justified (although we like to justify everything we can)

I had a experience with signs that is similar to what the first poster said. I wasn't sure how to achieve this specific goal I was setting out to achieve and suddenly, on television, my answer came (after asking my spirit guides and guardian angels to show me how I was supposed to achieve it and have it feel like I was attracted to that idea). It was so wierd because this show only comes on once every year or two and I didn't even know it was coming on, it was so strange. I do agree that when you are focusing on something you begin to see it everywhere but it could also be something that you should be picking up on.
