| Hi All! I posted a photo that I took which has an anomalous shape in it. I think it could possibly be a ghost: mental mosaic » Victorian Ghost Photo in Port Townsend, WA (as seen on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory) What do you think? Tui

| Ummm... it's not a ghost, I'm afraid (though I do wonder about that woman with the brain in her lap... WTF is that, anyway?) The photo was taken using a relatively slow shutter speed, say 1/15th or 1/30th of a second, without a flash. You can tell by the motion blur, especially on the right-hand side of the photo. On the extreme bottom right, you'll see that there's a lamp that illuminating what appears to be the arm of a couch. (Looks like it may be brass or possibly chrome.) You'll notice that the "ghosted" image is also more illuminated on the right, which means that it, too, was illuminated by that lamp. Looks to me like someone was standing and then immediately sat down as soon as you took the photo. The ghosting effect is the blurred motion of them as they sat down. |

| Lol! The 'brain' is her knee. She's wearing yellow pants, and they kinda get bunched up and, uh, 'brainy' looking, I suppose. It was taken with a new-at-the-time camera, and I was experimenting with taking pix without the flash. I wish I had the other pix in the series here on this machine, but they're back in the states in storage, alas. Thanks for the input! Tui

| Hi Tui Amazing photo. I had a closer look at the picture. Looks like you have two entities - one hooded and one above it. There are two faces poking over the couch on the right hand side. I can not see these clearly when I blow them up. Are they people that where actually present there? Interestingly one seems to be between the young ladys knee and the arm of the couch. There is also something else - a very bright redish light on the right hand side - on the back of the couch. Considering there was no flash one would not expect such a glowing light. Take care Alyesha |

For some of us and we are out there, we do see more than what we have been conditioned to. For some with very strong ties to whanau and believes, sometimes it is safer and more grounding for them to remain true to those whanau believes. Things like fear, being judged unfairly, thought crazy or simply as eccentric may put one off from seeking further. I guess that is why young children see, hear, feel more because they are not constrained to those rules. There is more in this world, for the majority most have been conditioned not to see but to ignore. To rationalise. I have enough photographs to prove that this world is dimensional in many aspects. My two pennies worth. Lol Alyesha |

| Yea, Looks like a motion blur effect from a slow shutter speed. When you turn off the flash on a camera the shutter speed automatically gets slower to let more light in. When this happens then you often will get blurry pictures. Try taking a picture with the same camera with the same settings and wave your hand infront of the picture while it's taking the picture. I bet you'll get similar results.

| David hahaha I think that brain is a mix of her hands her pants!Look more carefully people! But yes,her hands and pants looked like a brain,i totaly agree, cause the photo is not a much clear photo. She is holding her knee with her hands, how could her leg be in that position if she wouldn't hold it with her hands? I should start working as a photomontage expert Last edited by Jack : 01-06-2008 at 05:05 PM. |
