Hi all, this is my first post here, and, probably not my last since I found it. I had been reading for about an hour last night before I went to bed, then laid down to go to sleep and had the strangest experience, well 3 of them to be precise, that I haven't been able to explain. In the past I have managed to lucid dream but haven't for a while. And I've also had sleep paralysis where I had to force my self awake because it freaked me out. This was different though. It started that I felt my skin was vibrating really fast and almost electrical but with no pain. and I could hear a familiar voice talking, trying to explain something when I tried to focus on this the vibrations got more intense and my head felt like my brain was a liquid boiling, a kettle is what came to mind. With this came almost a static noise with feedback, resonating getting louder and louder until it was so loud I opened my eyes, it stopped. I laid back down and almost immediately got the vibrations again, I heard the voice and I'm not sure if I heard myself responding or if it was someone else, as soon as I had conciously thought about it I just got the static feedback thing again. I remember thinking of it as a badly tuned radio station. It then happened a 3rd time and I started to physically twitch/jolt/almost convulsing along with vibrations and feedback when I though I heard the door. I got up and realised it was just my house mate up stairs turning the light off. After that it was over, it took me a while to get to sleep and my heart was pounding fast and hard. This has puzzled me and is top of my list for strange experiences, anyone have any ideas what it was all about, and what I should have done to better handle the situation. I feel sometimes I have a habbit of overthinking. Thanks in advance Last edited by Gruff; 10-08-2007 at 03:24 PM. Reason: mistake |

I actually had those experiences last night for the first time. I wasn't afraid of the feeling but I was afraid of losing it, and it was really startling so I ended up losing it. I didn't sleep too well after that.

When you said about losing it, I found when I concentrated or tried to focus that was causing me to lose it. More practice I think. | |
