Odd Experience

Tonight where I work there is a building known as the 'Old Hall' and I've heard stories about it being haunted, strange goings on and such like (I witnessed personally that dogs will not enter this building whatsoever on a number of occasions they just growl and refuse) so at midnight (when I finished work) me and a colleague headed over to see if we could feel a presence by standing outside it, We noted that a blind was moving slightly inside, neither of us dared to look through hahaha) but then we walked off and something gave me the urge to turn back and take another look at the blind, it had moved slightly further (could have been the wind i guess but no open windows) This was not the odd experience though, the odd experience were 4 'silent' aircraft passing overhead whilst we were stood outside the building all just displaying one bright orange light, even when directly overhead they couldnt be heard! My colleague is an aviation buff and knows everything there is to know about flying things and could not explain them, they didnt have the 'running lights' of helicopters, were not planes because they slowed and sped up at intervals and even hovered at some point. Im not concluding theres anything odd UFO like about them but it was a weird experience considering what we were doing at the time.

Can't speak for the blinds, but I've seen odd shapes & lights in the sky as well that were completely silent. Travelling from northwest to southeast, about 8 or 10 of them overhead in a rough V formation, glowing sort of a yellow-orange.

Kinda freaked me out, actually. Took me ages to figure out what it was.

It was a flock of Canada geese flying south. Their white bellies were reflecting the light from the streetlights.

Hmm unfortunately they were definitely aircraft of some kind, and there was nothing to reflect onto them as the old hall we visited was in pretty much total darkness apart from white lights on the side of the building. They were a very bright orange glow, definitely brighter than a reflection could muster. Thanks for the suggestion I just hope someone knows an aircraft that flys silently only displaying one bright orange light.

The army does do exercises in aircraft with little or no running lights. This page on Wikipedia has more information:

Also, it could have been new aircraft or unmanned vehicles (like the predator drones used in Afghanistan) that were being tested.

Thing is i'm in England and central england at that, wouldnt have thought that sort of thing would be going on here but hey, was just odd thanks for the ideas guys I notice on the wikipedia entry it mentions phantom helicopters in the UK could be those.

Think we figured out what these were, possibly the chinese flying lanterns.
