There's a esoteric shop not far from me, that does readings and sells heaps of new age stuff. It deals a lot with wiccan beliefs. I've always been curious to get a reading there because the owners seem very into the whole thing, just when I see them serving. Anyway, I went pass the shop again and saw there "reading sign up" and was very tempted. I passed the shop a few times and there was a large amount of people in there. There was a kind of gathering out the back in the courtyard. However, the people that I saw pop in and out of the shop, who seemed like friends of the owners, just had this wierd vibe about them. They looked very much into wiccan or whatever you want to call it. I think one guy had a cloak on you, know the ones with the hoods. So I went pass the shop again and then decided "no" I wouldn't get a reading done and began walking back to my car, but then I was like "no I should give it a try" so I turned around again and went inside. The owner went out the back, but there were a few people sitting in the shop and they just looked so wierd. One man just scared me, with his face. There was just something horrible about it and I felt really uncomfortable. He had a glazed over look on his face (all I could think was this is very twin peaks and some guy was going to start speaking to me in toungues) So before the owner came back i quickly ran out. I couldn't believe how uncomfortable I felt been in the shop, it didn't feel right at all. Why is it that a lot of new age people, have this wierd vibe about them? I ended up looking on their website, to find that the gathering was some special gathering called "Sabbat Celebrations". |

when I studied metaphysics years ago I had a teacher in spiritual healing class who in our personal talks about many subjects used to say to me all the time"you have no idea how many people in the Sydney area{Sydney Australia}are into the black arts" I had to take notice of it because she seemed to really know her stuff and I guess it meant that there was all kinds of crazy things like animal sacrifice and god knows what going on. If I sense a bad situation I stay away from it |

It sounds like you walked in on a Wiccan celebration, which will bring out the people who practive Wicca. It's like walking teh streets at Halloween and thinking people act and dress that way all the time. I say go back when they are not having a special event, go during the day, and try again.

I thought I might do that Erin. I might go back. The thing is the man in the sitting in the chair really gave me bad vibe. I can't really explain it. I just felt the need to get out of the shop after seeing him. He just looked creepy. |

As Erin said, just go back when there isn't a celebration... and I bet you'll be more comfortable. Just out of curiosity did you go on a Wiccan Holiday?

I don't think it had to do with a preconceived fear, although I did have one, but he just made my feelings seem justified.

The next time you go the same shop you may feel differently... so why stay away, if you feel differently the next time... your fear may have been justified indeed, or not, who is to say... but if it was justified it could have been a momentary fear, in reference to that particular time. If I stayed away from everything I feared, I probably wouldn't be functioning very much, if at all. Last edited by Chado2423; 10-03-2007 at 04:21 AM.

I'm in the "trust your vibes" club on this one, too. It's one thing if you're easily "creeped out." But if you're open enough to go into a new-age store to get a reading in the first place, you're bound to be a pretty open-minded individual. Never get a reading from a place or person that makes you feel uncomfortable in a creepy, fearful way! Fear can be our lower self talking, trying to maintain the status quo. But fear can also be a warning sign from our intuition that something is truly not aligned with our highest good. It's our job to come in to a close enough relationship with our Higher Self to sort out the difference. And (watch out, shameless plug coming!!!) it just so happens I just published my book on that very subject ... check out "Unlock Your Intuition" now on Amazon.com - sorry, I couldn't resist :-) |
