Hi, I hope all of you've got well into the new year.

Reading more continually
Doing better. It seems like if there's very little time left to do something I feel like more of a choir than something I lust to do (eventhough I know it's not this way, when I think about how I'd like my future to be) then I somehow manage to barely getting done, and just slipping through the needle eye, or so to say not failing, but I'm not learning all the things I want to, and it's often more out of memory. I remember when I just started studying, where I read much more continually then I do now, the things I learned at that time are things I know to the bone, things I can think out a prove of myself, and eventhough the subjects doesn't seem to get harder (it's basically the same procedure each course) then I seem to learn a lot less since the period where I've had a hard time reading. Sorry for the lack of punktums.

So doing better, but it's not like after I'm done with my morning routines, that I just lust reading a good book for my studies, because most of these books are written in a way that I really do enjoy. I've also experienced that if I force myself to read, it'll often only last for very few hours, with a very bad learning rate, I think Steve calls this efficienty, you know your actual work pr. hour, and not just the time you spend at work. I don't know why it's so, it's like I suddenly looses concentration all of a sudden, but I still keep reading, and then I've to read it all over again, I surely hope it won't last for much longer, and I guess it might have to do with it feels like a choir, or to say something you MUST do, no matter if you want to or not, not sure though.

Make a habit of getting up when the alarm clock goes off
Well if I get early in bed, after having done my evening routine it seems like it goes fine, but if I don't then I can often sleep for 10-12 hours, eventhough I usually tries to get 6,5-8 hours, which I hope my body sooner or later will get used to. I'm actually quite positive about this one, because it's at least going better.

Get a habit of going to the gym, and following the program I have.
I haven't been to the gym since I decided that I needed to put more time into reading, well I guess you don't make the weak strong by making the strong weak.

Make a habit of eating what I've written in my diet
Which is going quite fine, though I'm not gaining that much weight then I'm certain it's going fine. I could however probably need some more varity, but I think I need to learn just to write it down, and then get back to it, when I've done my other stuff, you know doing things one by one.

Make a habit of turning off the computer at 20:30
Which I didn't do last night, however I've done so a lot recently. An occasional slip isn't bad at all if you ask me, of course unless it's not occasional.

So maybe a bit progress, though if you look back to the time I started writing in here, it seems a bit like time hasn't moved very much from august to today, that saddens me a lot, but I don't think I can do anything else than keep trying, and try not to slip in those slippery time traps (spending a lot of time on something I know doesn't matter, and I'll think back of with regret just monts later.)

I've thought about something funny, usually it takes me 10-30 minutes to write these logs, and I've noticed that when it isn't going that well, I've a lot more to write, more thoughts to share, and thereby it takes longer than planned to write, but when it goes well, there really isn't that much to say, so you could say that doing what I want, would actually create some positive spiral in my daily pattern, though it would require I'd do it for at least one week (if I can put myself together to log next weekend).

Regards OBO

Hi all, so time for another update.

Reading more continually
This is doing much better, I guess it's because I have to read now, since it's the exam period. So I probably can't deduce anything from this.

Make a habit of getting up when the alarm clock goes off
Going on and off, sadly, I haven't been able to go to bed at the hours I wanted, meaning when I actually managed to get up when I wanted to, which is the same time every day, then I didn't get very much sleep, where I later in the night got over tired, so I ended up getting late in bed again, and then I just didn't even hear the alarm. It has been going like that for some time now, and since it seems like I'm responding better to my alarm, then the best thing I can do, is to sleep early enough, so my body won't need rest the next morning.

Get a habit of going to the gym, and following the program I have.
Which still are on hold, or to be honest I inteded to do this some time ago, but without my traning partner, and the feeling of still lacking the ability to read continually, then it's kind of easy not to go, even when I want to.

Make a habit of eating what I've written in my diet
Which I'm doing more or less, though I have had a hard time getting out of the house lately, and I usually ran out of food in something like 3-4 days, so some of the days I haven't had milk for breakfast, and others I haven't had evening food, which really isn't very optimal when you're trying to gain weight.

Make a habit of turning off the computer at 20:30
Which I have had a hard time doing, and when I did, it has usually been that kind of days where I hadn't read very much, so in stead of reading in the morning, I read in the evening/night. I'm not sure if it was a good idea to alteast reading, but I guess I'll never know for sure.

So all in all, it has been a lot worse, though the time is tight these days, and I don't get out very much, or have that much time for fun, so I guess it's no surprise if I feel a bit sad some of the days. I guess if I had followed my plan all along from the start, then I'll have plenty of time now, well that's what I should have at least, never the less past is past, and I can only change the future by maintaining control of the present, with an overview of what these actions will lead to. Or to say short, I really must start following my plan better.

A new update here, I would have done it yesterday, but I got up late, so I had to do some of the stuff written here, in stead of writing about them.

Reading more continually
Well it seems like I've finally got a grip, and I've started reading with more ease, not really needing to go through a whole motivate process, not needing to explain to myself why I study, not needing to tell myself what I expect of the future. Recently it's been more like when I was younger, and I did it, because I knew I had to, not questioning the motives, knowing it was what that was best for me.

Make a habit of getting up when the alarm clock goes off
Like last week this is still going pretty much on and off, it pretty much depends on wether or not I get to sleep early enough, and I don't have trouble sleeping. Usually I've no trouble after I take an evening bath, having a glass of water, have been to the toilet, and reading before until I get to tired to read on. Luckily getting up late hasn't been to bad recently because at least I get some work done.

Get a habit of going to the gym, and following the program I have.
Well I was at the gym recently, but else I haven't been there for a long time, I really hope to go tomorrow. Though I've no training buddy waiting for me, so it might get hard, well let's see what the future holds.

Make a habit of eating what I've written in my diet
This is going pretty well.

Make a habit of turning off the computer at 20:30
Compared to last week, this is going a lot better, yet not optimalt, though a lot better.

So I should probably start making some statistics again, so you can see the pattern of when I get up in the morning, and when I turn of the computer, I'll see if I can get that done in a two weeks.

Hi, I've decided to make my updates at wedensday now. I've for a while been thinking wether or not my updates actually helps me, so at the moment I'm not certain if I'll continue logging my process in getting to my goals and also getting a higher productivity.

Reading more continually
Well, it's doing fine now, I'll se if I can keep it stable, if so I'll move on with the next subject.

Make a habit of getting up when the alarm clock goes off
I've had a hard time lately, though I'm certain that as soon as I get my sleeping habit back to normal there won't be any problems.

Get a habit of going to the gym, and following the program I have.
I haven't done that for some time now, I think it's been two weeks since last time now? And before that several weeks I think.

Make a habit of eating what I've written in my diet
Which I'm more or less doing.

Make a habit of turning off the computer at 20:30
Which I've had a hard time doing, but I think it's going to get a bit easier now.

So hopefully something a bit more clear next wedensday, hmm deja-vu

So another update. I got up late, so I'm in a hurry right now!

Reading more continually
Going on and off, I hope it'll be more on. I've actually been extremely lucky so far, lucky that I haven't failed more classes than I've.

Make a habit of getting up when the alarm clock goes off
This isn't going very well recently. Very bad to be honest.

Get a habit of going to the gym, and following the program I have.
Which I'm doing.

Make a habit of eating what I've written in my diet
Which I'm doing.

Make a habit of turning off the computer at 20:30
Which I also have had a bit of a hard time doing, yet not as bad as one might would think when reading "getting up when the alarm clock goes off".

So it seems to be as usually. If you see the very first post I made you'll see I haven't made much progress. I don't know why I've such a hard time sticking to my plans, but I guess practice makes permanent.

Not much new.

Reading more continually
Having a hard time doing it still.

Make a habit of getting up when the alarm clock goes off
Which I think I'm somehow in control of at the moment, if I just could keep doing it long enough for it to stick.

Get a habit of going to the gym, and following the program I have.
Which I'm more or less doing.

Make a habit of eating what I've written in my diet
Which I'm more or less doing.

Make a habit of turning off the computer at 20:30
Which I've been doing on and off lately, I haven't made statistics at a continuary base, so I'm not going to be very precise about this subject at this point.

All in all quite normal for me I guess. I'm looking forward to see what the weekend brings.

I got up a bit late, but now I've catched up with pretty much all of it. It seems like this is one of the better weeks.

Reading more continually
I've done this pretty well the latest week, and I hope it'll continue. I'm not going to put any kind of emotions on this subject, since it seems like that every time I feel bad in the slightest way, my goals are always what drops first, and remember that it doesn't take any skills for a person who enjoys what he does at all time to do what he wants. It does however for a person who only enjoys what he does most of the times. Where as a person who does something he never enjoys is probably not doing something he wants to, because then one would expect that he'd enjoy at some time. So hopefully by not putting emotions on my goals I'll avoid my inner battle of arguments when I'm not really geared for doing anything.

Make a habit of getting up when the alarm clock goes off
This has been going pretty well, though I accidently sleept in after the alarm today, so I'll take some training passes at getting up when the clock rings right away, since I'm in such a good time today anyway!

Get a habit of going to the gym, and following the program I have.
Which I'm doing, though not so much progress in strength in the moment, I'm certain it'll come soon.

Make a habit of eating what I've written in my diet
Which I'm doing, I've also focused on not making the mass gain to big, so that's probably why I'm not going as fast up in strength as others, though I don't complain, for I know my fat percent will be the lowest compared to the others.

Make a habit of turning off the computer at 20:30
Which I've been doing pretty regulary.

So if this continues I'll hopefully soon finally be able to move on with the next phase of goals / habit changing.

- As a side note, I've noticed something funny recently, I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before, but there was a place where people where asked what their plan where for their future. A lot of people then said things like getting kids, earning good money and get a house at some warm beach or something or something like that. Now that's yet not actually their plans, that must be their goals, and it made me think if I earlier also always confused a goal with a plan. I'm not certain since I've never really written down my thoughts from before the time I started setting goals (when I was 17 - 3 years ago now), but in some way I might make the same mistake when I was younger.

Let me start of by saying that it has got even better now! Seems like I've kept track for about two weeks now. There've been some few bad days though, but I got back up on track pretty much every time I stepped off.

Reading more continually
Which I've done pretty well, except for the weekend, but I hope it'll get even better now.

Make a habit of getting up when the alarm clock goes off
Which I've done mostly, though sunday I didn't get up as I should, but I'm certain it'll get even better also!

Get a habit of going to the gym, and following the program I have.
Which I'm more or less doing.

Make a habit of eating what I've written in my diet
Which I'm more or less doing.

Make a habit of turning off the computer at 20:30
Which still can make some trouble, but I'm getting the hang of it, finally.

So I think this has been one more good week, maybe I've finally improved, or maybe it's just the spring, who knows.

Hello all. Long time, no see I guess.

It didn't turn out so well last time, and I am ready for giving it another go. This time however I shall try to do fewer steps at a time.

I will let each of these goals have one month to be completed, I shall evaluate after this time period, and then hopefully progress to the next goals.

So for the first month (to 25th june) my goals are:
#1 Follow my diet
Simply eat what I have decided, seven meals a day, keep doing this all day the whole month, this will hopefully help me getting some energy back.
#2 Reading continually
I hope to be able to read 45 pages each day as a minimum. It doesn't matter when, or how, just getting a continually base will be a giant achievement for me.

If you have followed my log before I think you'll probably know what the next goals will be, hopefully I shall feel good about the two goals above in the end of june.

So let me hear what you think.

Regards OBO

Oh well, the previous plan didn't work so well it seems however I'm ready to give it another go.

Now I've a much more relaxed commitment to the updates, but still serious about the goals of course. I believe the best approach will be to update when I want to, in stead of making a habit of updating, as I don't plan on this log to be forever.

Anyway I'll add this home page to my free time activities and will focus on one goal at a time this time, this will be written as a focus goal (the most important goal), secondly I'll also list all of my other goals that may or may not have a progress, though these aren't as important, and aren't focused goals, I'd find my posts rather dull if all they contained were:
<insert goal> comment: doing well, today I did the following <insert text> // doing horrible, today especially this part went wrong <insert text>.

So I'll write the template now, and will use that for further replies.

Focus goal - Doing my work.
Comments: Quite simple, do the work I plan to do for the given period of time between updates, it's not very specific, but as a student it'll be about studying (reading, doing assignments and taking notes), further details will of course be in each of the updates.

Oh, and I almost forgot this part, I'll add one more subsection, because I believe commets such as I've read 30 pages today, or I've done 3 assignments would get kind of dull if I don't share what I've learned, therefore:
What I've learned
This will be a resume that you all are very welcome to comment on, it'll mostly be purpose, definition and conclusion with my own personal comments added. That way all the boring detalied stuff of method will not be mentioned unless asked, or if I feel it's relevant to add.

Secondary goals -
#1 Eat according to my diet to gain weight.
Comments:
#2 Go to fitness to gaing muscle mass.
Comments:
#3 Rise at the same time in the morning, and go to bed in the same time in the evening - error marking of up to 1 hour is quite acceptable.
Comments:
#4 Plan my days.
Comments:
#5 Follow my plans.
Comments:

Certainly some of these are quite broad therms, and honestly you could say if I plan on planning, I do already follow my plans, or if I plan on eating something special or go to fitness, I do likewise follow my plan, however I need the broader terms for the smaller details that I otherwise can accidently leave out by having more specific targets, which #1-#4 is after all.

Section for random thoughts:

Well I used to share my thoughts of all kinds of stuff on another forum, however as I'm not requested there anymore I think it could be a nice extra feature of my log that I'll write my thoughts of the world how random they may be, and here some inputs about it.
The thoughts can be pretty much everything from what I think of small good advices, to my view of the world, etc. I see it as a great opportunity of us to share eachothers ideas and hopefully some of us will hear each of our arguments and lean towards are more agreeable world view.

All kind of inputs to all parts of the thread is welcomed of course.

Love the fact that, even though a lot has changed, you're still updating this topic!

Good that you have chosen one major goal; good luck
