Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. - Albert Einstein (1879-1955) The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life. - Muhammad Ali The superior man is distressed by the limitation of his ability; he is not distressed by the fact that men do not recognize the ability he has. – Confucius Knowledge is power. - Thomas Hobbes In Buddhism, there is no place for using effort. Just be ordinary and nothing special. Eat your food, move your bowels, pass water and when you're tired go and lie down. The ignorant will laugh at me, but the wise will understand. - Bruce Lee Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend. - Bruce Lee |

"Progress, not perfection in 2007" It is from Flylady.... I really think that doing a little everyday (babysteps) is a sure way to get where you want to be. As in the secret, when they explain that you can drive from A to B seeing just a few km ahead.... It also reminds me about Kaizen, what Tony Robbins calls CANI... Doing little things everyday to make your life better... It may be slow, but this way, you are sure to reach your goal someday... When I turn cold turkey with something, I crash down and burn. |

I know of some that run in my family: "Trust in Allah but always tie your camel" (we're not islamic but the saying still apllies) what an old auntie used to say: " You will have to be alive to get to the place where you die first." and my 'own': carpe diem, seize the day PS: Dorothy Hannah that quote is brilliant, thank you. PS2: I love reading the books Michael Leunig writes, they're so simple and profound all the same. beautiful. |

I have a collection of inspiring quotes that I love. Many of them has become my motto in life and have helped me succeed to get through even the most difficult situations in my life. Here are 2 of my favorite quotes: "I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of a man is to live, not to exist." -- Jack London "If you have a goal in life that takes a lot of energy, that requires a lot of work, that incurs a great deal of interest and that is a challenge to you, you will always look forward to waking up to see what the new day brings." -- Susan Polis Schultz |

The quote I live by: "Listen to experts, the'll tell you what you can't do and why. Then do it" someone telling me something can't be done always motivates me to try harder just to prove them wrong. And three that I've been applying recently (because I lack in motivation): "You don't have to get it right. JUST GET IT GOING" "Just Do it" and "100% of the shots you don't take don't go in." I've set my main theme for this year is to live with courage. And I found this part of Steve Jobs' Stanford University 2005 commencement address to be very inspiring: Quote:

Willing is not enough; we must do." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Hello...here are the quotes in which I strongly belive. I am kinda new to this, so I just wanted to introduce myself. Mine is the quote in my signature, which is my own. Every time I think that it has become obsolete, it redefines itself and shows that it is still perfect, just in a different way. It reminds me that everything I need to be I already am, and that part of me has always known that.

BUT THOSE WHO ABANDON THERE FRIENDS AND COMRADES ARE WORSE THAN SCUM!" for that i learn a very special lesson: friends are one of my treasures....i treasure them more than any jewelries because they make me feel that i exist to be happy to become me to be faithful and to become what i will be in my future...and they make me feel special and needed in this world........ |

Here's a few that I've adopted over the course of my personal development: "Keep moving forward." "We will find strength in what's left behind." "The meaning of life is to live it." And the quote that lifted me up in one of my darkest times: Courage, it would seem, is nothing less than the power to overcome danger, misfortune, fear, injustice, while continuing to affirm inwardly that life with all its sorrows is good; that everything is meaningful even if in a sense beyond our understanding; and that there is always tomorrow.--Dorothy Thompson |
