u continue/start to make it hapen quicker, by working towards it and changing you perspective to a (when this happens) perspective rather than an (oh i cant wait for this to happen) perspective, depending of course on, what your refering to of course but this usually helps with all aspects of life. I hope this has helped if not, gimme more specifics and i'll will try again. peace, karlos

Break it up into chunks and focus on having each part happen. If you're planning on being a doctor, for example, focus on completing a certain required class, then on all your premed reqs, on taking the MCAT, on applying to various schools, and so on. One of my friends seems to be doing quite well at this right now, having taken all his his premed reqs before his junior year and now he's about to take the MCAT, thus why that example came to mind.

I don't know what you are waiting for--but let's assume it is something that will take years. Part of what helps is to enjoy the journey to your goal as valuable in and of itself--not just something standing in between you and your goal. Also, there is danger of missing out on big chunks of your live while you are waiting for your life's goal to be achieved. If I were you I'd spend some of that down time learning how to knit, or play video games, or speak German. Who says you can only have one purpose in life?
