 The Fable of the Dragon-Tyrant If you are one of those who believe that "There are only 2 inevitable things-death and taxes", know that you may be wrong (maybe not about the taxes part  )And if you don't give a damn about the future nor you have any curiosity about it, don't bother reading further on the thread, because it has a lot of reading  Please read the following text:The Fable of the Dragon-Tyrant If you think it is too far-fetched and unrealistic, see this link: ImmInst.org -> Singularity FAQ for Dummies Now i dont want to start a scientific discussion of wheter we will have the technology for having indefinite lifespans or not; i only say that believing this (and it is definitely very reasonable to believe that we will have this technology at most by 2100, and that's being pessimistic because i believe it will come sooner) might change your life and goals. Oh and i'm aware that since this website is directioned more to new-age spiritual beliefs, this new paradigm is not very easy for some to accept. Think about how you would view life if you would not die of old age (though you might still suffer an accident and die by trauma). I believe that one that takes care of himself, and thats not over 40 years old nowadays has a pretty good chance of appreciating the technology breakthroughs that are going to come in the next decades. All i'm trying to communicate is that i want to know what would you do of your life if you knew that if you survived until past +-2060 you would be able to physically live indefinitely? Would you take more care of your life? Would you save more money? Spend more money? Take new diets (like Calorie restriction - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, even though i don't take it myself-it must be a pain, but i consider doing it when i get a bit older, it is the only known way currently of really increasing our lifespan). Plan more your future? Be happier? You see, if you had a different idea of the future, wouldn't you change your life and goals now? I just tried to change the "death is inevitable" paradigm, so one can be more enthusiastic about life and about developing oneself, because he knows he will live very long so he can seize much more of what life has to give.

| 2060...I'd be 68! Gosh....I dont really think about death, the reality of it hasnt sunk in yet....
