Default managing time

I dont know if my time managing ability is really poor or most people do this, but i cant stick to schedule. I would like to get this figured since time is supposedly your most precious asset and get more stuff done.

Even though i wake up at 6 and do plenty of hours of work in a day. I never follow the same schedule each day, but ill always get it done in the end.

Any tips to managing time and actually following through exactly or does noone do this?

eg. instead of writing this post i should be studying now for exams and look at this at night..

Default don't fret

I agree it is difficult to adhere to a schedule strictly.I should also be studying now but i am here at the forums.

In my opinion, your situation is not really bad because even though you do not follow your schedule, you still get your things done at the end. Frankly speaking, it is almost impossible to follow the same schedule everyday for there are always things that may crop up eg. new tasks or family matters to deal with.

So i really don't think there's a concern there. Having a schedule is one but accomplishing what you want to/plan to complete is more important.

For instance, i know that after leaving this post, i will get back to studying and i will finish what i need to at the end of the day

good to know im not the only one .. i think ill give it a 30 day trial in sticking to a schedule/ i will make it in advance each day. im just going to put 3 things i must get done down, after i finish those 3 things then the rest of the day is up for grabs. Ill see how compact i can eventually make my days.

Ahah yeah in a p.d way you would want to make the most out of each day. If i could use just some of those hours each day where i do random stuff to learn eg. stock markets over a year thats 1000 hrs? which could be millions of dollars! Whats worse is having a computer in your room and loooking at it during each break then finding it hard to get back to work. I should just look at this once each night instead of coming back and finding it hard to leave hehe.

Add my name to the list. I too have the same problem, and yes, i too should be studying right now. What i will say about schedules. I have learned, over the past month or so that i have been using a schedule, that it seems to be best to have a semi rigid schedule. Have a routine that you follow for the first 2 hours you wake up (this is just an example) and then be flexible for the rest of the day until you come home from work, then follow a rigid 2 hour schedule again.

Following a rigid schedule helps you to get more done in less time. Take something that you know you have to do everyday (eg STUDYING) and force it into a habitual routine (i know... redundancy LOL). Oh, and it helps if the routine starts at a specific time or event such as after work, or when you wake up. That will make it easier to stick to since you know that everyday when you wake up you have a list of things to do. This method will allow you to compact those things that you have to get done anyway into a smaller amount of time. This frees up time for you to explore and be flexible with your activities.

Wow... that sounds like really good advice... im gonna have to follow it myself!
