Talking Welcome, Moderator Brutha!

Hi, All!

I think everyone noticed that Brutha is now the moderator in Personal Effectiveness forum. He replaces Chris, who decided to focus on other activities.

So I decided to open this "welcome party" thread.

I guess you all know that Brutha is one of the most prolific contributors to Personal Development for Smart People Forums. What you might not know is that, that over the last months Brutha was relentless is detecting and reporting spam and so improving our user experience.

I suggest that we all welcome Brutha as a new mod here and congratulate him with this well deserved achievement!

P.S. And if he thinks that this thread is off-topic, he can nuke it, so let's be nice!

I won't congratulate him anytime soon - after a few months maybe. I'm always very weary of new mods. Sometimes "power" gets to people's head too much.

Anyway, one of my favorite section of this forum has been the personal effectiveness section, so I hope you don't screw it up Brutha . Cheers

congrats brutha.
I feel positions of esteem such as this aren't thrown around too freely and you must have a mindset and dedication which will bring value to this forum.
Also I would like to thank you for the work you have done behind the scenes on helping reduce spam.
A lot of the behind the scenes work in communities such as this goes largely unnoticed by the masses and as such unappreciated so it's good to be informed about the efforts some people are putting in.

Wow... what a load off my mind... Last night I saw "Brutha, Moderator" and I said to myself... "How could I have been so blind as to never notice that before...???" Now I know....

And to you Brutha... congratulation... it is not easy to congratulate a new Mod without looking like a suck-up... but I mean it... and just to prove that I'm not sucking up... I ask you that if and when I get out of line... jump on my sorry butt... and kick it...

But, seriously, I wish you the very best and I congratulate you on accepting such a difficult and thankless job...

Long life to Moderator Brutha...

.

Thank you, I will do my best to keep you up on that request .

Good point, it isn't even that difficult. When you see a spam post please take five seconds to click report post and to write the word SPAM.
That makes it easy for us mods to delete the spam post and keep the forum spam free.

Unless you do something, that requires my attention you probably won't notice much of my moderating activity. You won't know who is responsible for the missing threads and/or users *muhaha*

The visible changes will be a sticky Month challenge, to encourage everyone to make goals for the upcoming month. Maybe also a few other stickies when we get other good community activities that deverse to be sticked.

I will recite that Terry Pratchett (by the way the nickname comes from a character of one of Terry's books ) quote a few times (hopefully only a few times...), when I see abuse of multiple exclamation marks.

In addition I will move more threads, so you probably won't find much on the Intention/Manifestion topic anymore in this forum. People who want to discuss Intention/Manifestion will rather find threads about it in the Intention/Manifestion forum.

Apart from that I will hide my evil world domination plans and do them in secret...

Feel always free to PM me when you have some feedback on any thing I do on this forum (I won't held it against anyone, when I get negative feedback about something I have done).

I promise to inhibit both my use of exclamation points and my incipient mental illness!!!!!!!! If you'll promise to practice tolerance.

Congratulations, Brutha. Your posts are thought-provoking, and you are probably the most diligent person I've seen around these parts!

Love,
angela

Tolerance to people with low posting skillls challenges me to help them with their misfortune.

It is always a matter of personal development. That means encouraging members to improve their posting skills (maybe I find also a good quote against all capital post, non-capital posts and long posts which lack of paragraphs posts).
Always with the goal to provoke thoughts about better written communication .

Forum moderation is like gardening, you water those plants who need your attention to grow strong and beautiful (users who lack posting skills) and you cut out the weed (Spam).

I've been on the opposite side to Brutha in a discussion on a reasonably controversial topic and I've found him to be reasoned and polite, even if he doesn't see the wisdom in agreeing with me.

I'm sure he'll do a great job.
