| Hi all, As a quick introduction, I'm Rohan, I haven't posted on these forums before but I've been a reader of Steve's blog for the past year or so. I've recently had the idea of running 30 day trials somewhat like scientific experiments, with an aim, hypothesis (expected results), method (plan for the trial), results (usually daily or weekly journal entries about the trial) and a discussion and conclusion. I've tried it out personally and it seems to work well (see my wiki). I'm now thinking about making a website that would let you do all of the above, and also let you record results in a more systematic fashion (ie. ticking boxes for days completed as well as making journal entries) and importantly, allowing more than one person to conduct the same experiment at the same time, and to record the results in the same place. Access to the whole website would be free. I think this would be great because it would bring together people attempting the same experiment, and afterwards there would be a record left for other people to read over if they're thinking about conducting a similar experiment themselves. Would you be interested in using a website like that? Any ideas to make it better? I'm enthusiastic about using the website personally, but I'd also like to get some feedback on what other people want so I can make something that's usable by everyone Thanks! Rohan |

| That's a great idea. Cool thing would be to have some default 30day trials with clearly set rules. And every user has a profile where you can see his achievements in the past. I think this would really boost motivation. |

| Sounds interesting. I like Trustme's suggestions as well.

| I just started a similar kind of site (see signature) but what I'm doing is more personal, what you have planned is a lot more ambitious! I think it's a great idea, competition can be a really great motivator and a lot of people coming together like that could be a great way to brainstorm some really unique and worthwhile 30 day trials. Also, you should take a look at the site 43 things, they do something similar and you could probably get an idea of what will work well from looking over what they're doing.

| I've just had a look at goalsetting1.com, and it is very similar. I think I'd like to focus on the collaborative and community aspects, setting up a community around a trial/experiment. 43things does it pretty well, but doesn't have the same concept of a focussed trial and the ability to formally record results. Stu, your blog looks like exactly what I was doing before I came up with this idea Ellesse, I've been thinking about adding goal-setting feature, although my idea was more to do with a system of breaking large goals down into smaller ones than of tracking progress on individual goals. I'll have a think about that and see if I can work it in. Thanks for the feedback! Rohan |

| They are going well, thanks! I hope you do some of the trials you had brainstormed on your wiki and let us know how they go, some of them look very interesting.

| I love 30 day challenges. I'm building my own site to help people change their lives, one month at a time. 30 sleeps: follow your bliss. In fact, launching the site was a 30 day challenge of its own. The goal for 30zzz is to build an enchanting experience around a community of dreamchasers, helping to inspire, motivate, encourage, and celebrate achievement. We'd love to hear your guys' feedback from trying the site. We want to know what's good, what's missing (which is a *lot* right now, because it was released today We'll probably be rolling out new features almost every day for the next several weeks (including the 30zzz blog), so stay tuned!
